I never got around to playing those punkbuster supported games much but isn't it some anticheat thing? won't there be haXoRz now tryin to get lulz?

you obviously have no idea what PB is :p

its supposed to be an anti-cheat, but its nothing more than a joke
it does nothing more than limit legit players

iv never heard of it actually stopping cheaters

Excuse me for being slow, but since you can turn PB off (on the server and the client), why is a non PB version needed???

hmm? thats actually a good point

maybe even if it turned off the server can still detect that its off and kicks you for it
but if its not even in the client, it cant do anything?

no you wont be able to play on pb servers with this client.. this client isn't only to disable pb completely (since theres still pb even with it disabled in quake3.exe).. it also has other features like more fps and bug fixes

As far as I know, if the server has PB enabled (it can be disabled on the server) you wont be able to connect without a PB enabled client as it checks for certain responses on connect and during the game, there are plenty of PB disabled servers around, Dont see the need for a client without PB, now a client with bug fixes would be nice. What about q3 servers running pure=1, you couldnt connect to them with or without PB as pure=1 forces the use of the same files on the client as on the server (seems like).

I dont have a problem with PB as it evens the playing field (when needed).

PB adds major lag especially the first few minutes when you connect to a server with it enabled

yes.... pb can be disabled, who cares. fix things. but the pb code isn't in the source that i could tell so there's no option to make a client with it.
