He has a lot of ground to make up, but with a little luck it can be done.

Well looks like you posted this on Sunday before the race?

Things aren't looking good as of right now. Basicly he has to win Richmond and Harvick has to finish 30ish at the same time for Junior to make the chase. To many blown engines and misfortune this season. It's to bad because he ran up front all season and had so many chances to seal the deal but his bad luck would set in. Well this is the "silly season"...

i think his team showed great effort. Just let down by engines all year. They had a nice comeback though, i am sure he will be pleased at this point where ever they end up.

i bet it will be Gordon or Johnson at the end of the year.

Next year should prove very interesting.

Exactly. Besides the multiple DNFs due to mostly horrible luck they top 5'd and top 10'd it all year. They definitely did not have a terrible year regardless of making the chase or not.

I'm hoping it's Johnson and Stewart.

Yeah next year will be interesting all right. Stewart in a Toyota and Junior in a very competitive piece of equipment.

this reminds me of the time I was down visiting Gator, and everyone started to watch Nascar. I think 25 laps into it, I turned to Gator and said. "Are we going to watch the whole race?"

Well. During a race you're suppose to drink *heavy* (makes it a little more interesting for some). If you have people over you tend to miss 70% of a race. I don't mind watching a whole race stone sober, good way to recover from a Saturday night. Some enjoy it and some don't understand it (aka the cars going in a 'circle' comment people tend to make).
