Lately I've been working on a DM map for competitive gaming, meaning, a good layout with a good Item placement. Where I lack in detailing, I hope to compensate with a well-balanced map suitable for 1v1, 2v2 and as well for FFA. So even though I don't expect the map to make Quakecon
- I hope it'll be present in future tourneys (and also appearing on Mutant). The map is completely dedicated to Tastyspleen as you will see.
I'd like to thank daelmun who's been helping me with the layout and the flow of the map, as well as with Item positionning. Also thanks to sean for testing the map too. And to console for allowing the map to represent Tastyspleen (haha, actually I don't think he did
). Ingame banners created by sean & JQuestt.

Lots of jumps! MH isn't too hard. Waterfall climb. q2dm1-esque.
Should be a 2v2 tourney map!

I like the map, has a good feel to it, very edgish feel but still think it has a touch of orginality to it. The mega on top and RA on bottom can result in some intresting strategy. Curious to see how the map is played, and think the size suits 2v2 pretty good. 2 rocketlaunchers at each exit of sewer on completely different side of the map will make it hard to keep all the weapons away from opponent (sorta dm1'ish), and the rail-area is intresting. Jump to mega isn't hard, but it's just as a megajump should be. Some trickjumps here and there, but nothing that will completely give the experienced players that big an advantage over less experienced. Don't need to be super jumper to get down the most important jumps here.
Upon request I made a short jumpdemo on this map, well, short may not be the word, but it didn't take too long a time to make and edit. So check out the attachment to this comment. Jumps that I found more usefull than others are:
Doublejump off stairs out of sewer to the health-platform in arena:
Since RA is in sewer I reckon a swift exit from sewers would be vital at times. This doublejump up to the healths will not only give you a quick escape, but also make it easy to gain health quick.
chaingun shortcut:
doublejump off the chaingun-box from the stairs to cut the corner, that way you don't need to run up the stairs.
jump to rl window from stairs:
pretty much the same jump as from ammopack on dm1 to the light to the right of mega, but a lot easier. Really usefull I'd think.
jumps to mega:
The speedjump from backpack to mega is the safest way, alternatively jump from the spawnpad instead. Don't try to strafe it from the backpack, it's taking an uneccassry risk, and the megajump is a jump you DON'T want to miss. Takes time to get back up.
Waterclimb:
Shouldn't be hard, and if you can hide in the water while climbing up it can be used to your own benefit. A good way to get out of water maybe, at least it gives you 2 alternatives.
Jumps in box-room:
Very q2dm1'ish, plain doublejumps and strafe jumps. Keep in mind that it is possible to jump from the RL to the rocket-box, and strafe the way to the armor.
Strafe from steps going down from lift to box-room onto armor:
Really usefull and advise anyone playing this map to learn it. Strafe of the second last step on the way down from the main lift towards the armor in boxroom. It's such a nice shortcut and safes you a lot of time going around the boxes and doublejump up on the back.
EDIT: working on a working version as it seems I've messed up with using an older version of the map. Should be up shortly

OK, my jumpdemo is up, check attachment to my previous post. And there are some jumps to light I left out cause damn, I could add new jumps forever if I get started. And also forgot to add the triple jump from the the smallbox by the chainbox up to the ladder. But neither of the jumps are too hard or fancy, so doubt anyone cares that much. Enjoy!

Some great jumps I hadn't thought of, in the end. Great stuff to get to know the map jumps in and out, or to simply admire dael's skills.

Hehe, thanks, but there isn't that much skills involved in most of these jumps. Fairly straightforward trickjumps. But those jumps on the end is harder than the rest though
And there should be more jumps to be found, just took the most obvious ones and the most usefull ones and added some extra to make it enjoyable to watch as well.

For those interested, this Sunday after dael vs abus1ve Semi-final, we'll test the map out for 1s and 2s on the Tourney servers.
