A lithium server?

Thought it got added to "goto", maybe not.  It is there and running 24/7 regardless.

Might I suggest
"Sisters of the Worthless Miracle Reborn"
Their set up was:
Lithium physics, standard Q2 DM config (meaning no runes, or hooks, or any of the other fancy lithium features), all Power Ups on, Zero Spawn Protect.

MOD was:
Camping is a part of the game.
Do not wine, or no wining, or something like that.

Gator's server has no strafe jumping, so yes, it's just like Sisters OTWM.

May I suggest:
set hook_speed 900
set hook_pullspeed 700

I'm not 100% sure but it looked like the pullspeed is higher than default. Normally you can speedjump like crazy but with higher speeds I can barely steer:P  As to strafe jumping, in Lithium that is replaced by airaccelerate + hookjumping which is much faster. See demo where I'm trying to speedjump and goof around with hook   The cool thing about airaccelerate (read: no strafe) is you can steer and break in midair. Hehe I remember that Sisters server, they had hook disabled which made airaccelerate useless.

Panjoo, although I agree we need to bring lith back! I disagree on the suggested speeds. Nova and Kangix, formerly of SDH would probably suggest Hook speed 1800/pull 900.  Are your numbers in line with Euro lith servers, like Chef's? Although you, D4rk, and Piip excel at those speeds, I find it way too sluggish and the hook hop is done different as a result, because I had to learn to start my hook hop after the pull when playing there.

Air accel is a must in order to have any control during a hook hop. Playing ctf-railwars, they have it off, and the style of movement is completely different. The only thing I can do is hook hop in a straight line. But it is also my understanding, a proper hook/rail server doesn't have air accel, (although I personally prefer it). If there is no air accel, then I don't know how it can be called Lithium.

I think the speeds I suggested above go along the lines of the COTC servers back in the day.

Sorry Gator, you asked me months ago to give you ideas for the lith server. I had to dig up a condump to find Nova's suggested speeds.

Oh, and as far as runes....I think they should be voteable, if that can be done. Unfortunately, you have some asses out there....ahem, i.e., like eclipse, who like to throw the rune count in their favor by dropping runes into the wall so their opponent can't benefit from them.

Server is running 3 votable configs:
fastlithium - 1800 hookspeed, 900 pullspeed
slowlithium - 900 hookspeed, 700 pullspeed
sisterslithium - no hook, runes on


i cant recall if sisters had runes on, i was thinking no, would like some clarification on that.

but i'm for whatever is the most popular.
I just seem to still have some strange affection for that server. LOL
Guess it's just because I had so much fun there and have a lot of great memories from it.
