Endless Boot Loop

I am having a propblem with one of my computers and thought some one here may have the answer.
Windows XP, 1.5ghz, 1 meg ram, GeForce TI 4800.
It had been running fine for ever until the other day when it was shut down. Instead of shutting down it rebooted went through the post and windows screens then went to the Safe Mode option screen. I told the system to start windows normally and it went to the post screen then windows loading screen. After the windows screen it re-posted the computer beeped and the keyboard initiallized then it returned to the Safe mode screen.
It will do this in an endless loop. Always re-posting and initiallizing after the windows load screen then going to the Safe mode option screen. I fooled with it and was able to boot up in Safe Mode. I went back with system restore a few days but it still did the loop when re-booted.
I opened up the box cleaned and reseated all the cards etc, but no change. My first thought was it might be my vid card but now I'm thinking not. My next thought was maybe a Ram problem. Any ideas out there.

thanks for the tip Monkey unfortunately I do not have any Roxio prgrams on this machine. I'll keep fooling with it. I checked out the ram and it is ok. So I'm back to square one.

Reboots tend to be caused by a Blue Screen error from which the system could not recover. To see the error info you will have to disable the Auto-Reboot:
Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System
Go to Advanced
Under the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings...
Under System Failure un-check "Automatically restart"
(Then wait for the next system crash...)
You could also take a look at the system logs:
Start -> run...
then type: eventvwr.msc
(Or rightclick "my computer" and select "manage". Go to "system tools" -> event viewer.)
Look for any errors (red signs) in the 'application' and 'system' logs, there probably is an error with the date/time of the latest crash in there. When doing a web search include the Event-ID# from the logged error.

Thanks for the info guys. It turned out it was my power supply that was screwing things up. Thats something I never thought about. I had even checked the power read out in the statup menu and it seemed ok. Cheap fix too, all they charged me at the shop was $40.00. The power supply was still under warranty.

I've had 2 power supplies go in the last 5 years or so and both did odd things to my PC before eventually dieing. My sister's had startup problems the same way until it wouldn't even turn on. When I pulled out her power supply it was absolutely jammed with dust, detritus and anything else her vacuum cleaner threw at it (its on the flloor). Some wires had even melted. I bought an upgraded heavy duty one and things have been solid since.

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
