XP and mouse acceleration

Does anyone know of a real fix (besides using r1q2) for removing the mouse acceleration in Windows XP despite turning off "enhance pointer precision"?  The accelfix.exe doesn't really work, and the registry hack out there doesn't work either.

Fixing mouse acceleration on XP: With some mice under Windows XP it's nearly impossible to disable mouse acceleration in games without using a client such as NoCheat, R1Q2, q2advance or any other client that has an XP acceleration 'fix' option. However, these aren't 100% complete fixes and a small amount of acceleration may still exist. For this issue I've found a program called 'Accelfix' that prevents XP from applying mouse acceleration in the first place.

Note: Using R1Q2's DirectInput mouse support (m_directinput 1) will avoid this problem entirely.

I have a registry file on my computer that I use to make windows xp mouse sensitivity the same as windows 98 or me.  I will send it to you if you want.

Oddly enough, dahang doesnt use the registry fix.  I remember when I lanned at his house for nadml match against shiningforce the sensitivity was way off and it was messing me up.

Ya, I used the registry hack, it seems to work good (I just needed to log off and logon to get it working), much better than the accelfix.exe out there, which makes left and right movement speed different, and yet, you still see some acceleration with it.
