Mastadon, Six Feet Under, Dying Fetus, Deicide (first album ++good), Meshugga, Old Ministry (not really sure if you'd call it metal, but its pretty hard) best of newer stuff would probably be Dope and Drowning Pool IMHO

You rule, bleach. Finally someone who knows what REAL metal is.

I saw mastodon last august, in this tiny ass club with a 150 person (including bands and staff) capacity. It was fucking amazing, That was definitely one of the best shows I've ever seen. I'm also seeing Six Feet Under in september. I also saw Dying Fetus, which was friggin intense. They played my favorite song (grotesque impalement) first. It fuckin ruled.

I've also seen GWAR 3 times. each of which was FUCKING AMAZING. Their shows are sort of like real life q2, but with more blood.

Hell yeah man... I've seen dying fetus and GWAR (2) but never mastadon.. i can imagine what that would be like in a little club!
have you seen the GWAR movie? the more fucked up you are the better sense it makes.. and its FUNNY SHIT!

Which GWAR movie? there are a ton.

I saw mastodon about 2 weeks before they got REALLY huge, they probably won't even play a place like that anymore.

3 of my current favorite bands are Staind, Shinedown, and Disturbed. All 3 of them have good lead vocals (IMO) and I think that's what draws me to them.

With 2 of you praising Mastadon, I'm tempting to check them out.... gimme the name of a song I can try to download to have a listen, recommend something.

Also, I like Papa Roach, regardless of their classification. I like Celine Dion too, and country music, and all sorts of stuff.

i agree on that dope and drowning pool part. DP's 'bodies' is a classic

other artists that kick ass: metallica, anthrax, sepultra, machine head, coal chamber, fear factory!

he used to bum around hampton beach (near where i live) around the same time i did, so i hung out with him a few times before he ever got signed and made all the cash, when i saw him at ozzfest i broke his nose cuz of all the pussy rock he had come out with since
and n0c.. i was reffering to "Phallus in Wonderland" i think its called... its the only one ive seen (but i imagine they arent in most video stores

i cant stand anything since thier first album... and that only barely, they toned down a whole bunch when they got signed for some reason, when he was selling tapes out of his trunk, they were pretty heavy.. now its just more whining, like linkin park, whine whine whine whine

yeah i wish he didnt use that high pitch most of the time. how he did crawling's chorus was genius though. just sometimes he sounds like a chick with the high notes. besides that, lp is a five star band
