aq2 servers down?

I keep getting wsaeconnreset errors when i try to goto either aq2tdm or aq2ffa.

They also don't ping in standard quake 2's "join network server" menu.

Anyone else having this problem?

they went down.  There has been some random crashing going on, and until i find it or see it, they stay down. :/

All back up running now.

Wallfly doesnt appear to be working very well with them now.  i turned the idle-kick off.  Not sure why they would be misbehaving, it appears two wallfly's connect to the aq2team and none to the aq2ffa.

The only crashable glitch in Aq2  I know of is that most maps have too many polygons and can crash anyone running in software mode. The odds of that being the case are a million to one, but that's all I know of.

old buddy old pal why don't you ask me these things first.

For whatever reason, probably version differences, some of the files hosted here do not match those currently used on the TS aq2 serves.

I have a copy of the client download for aq2 with patch on the DNA files section.

However there are about 400 megabytes worth of map files that you need to download elsewhere. All theones on these servers can be found here. So I suggest you get the action quake2 download the tastyspleen file section and copy the maps, env, sound, and texture files into c:\quake2\action and then install the aq2 client from the DNA files section.

(there are a couple textures that need to be overwritten by the official version for some reason in order to get this working)

Also don't forget that you have to do massive editing to your autoexec.cfg in the action folder before this mod is even playable. The standard autoexec.cfg that comes with the action quake 2 client is based off of some funky ID software preset configure file that you can find in the pak files in baseq2. You'll have to fix a lot of simple things as well, like your name which is defaulted to suislide.
