Can put bfg on on q2dm2 but not allow people using it if the vote goes in favour of BFG off. But it depends on the maplist and which maps there that have bfg. Bfg on q2dm2 isn't such a big deal, but on some maps it can be more dominating.

i think if you have the BFG.. and you decide to use it.. you should be able to kill your teammate as well..

makes it a more catious to use weapon..

I vote it on, cause thats the way to play dm2.. I think it should be voted off for any other map though.. or just say dont' use bfg in dm2 but still keep it on for railgun. and element, thats why friendly fire is on (meaning you CAN hurt your teammate)

Please note that BFG OFF will also disable the Railgun in Q2dm2.

quick question, I run osp on my home server and disabling the bfg doesn't mess with the railgun spawns, this is only a bug I think in gx mod 1.6-1.8 (the two latest versions) and since tastyspleen doesn't run gx this shouldnt be an issue

if you guys are having probs with your osp config lemme know, but I think more likely someone mentioned the gx bug and you guys got it mixed up

hmm.. i remember trying to disable bfg on tourney and it did the same thing as on gxmod servers.. mustve been an old tourney mod, put q2dm2 on the tastyspleen map list and we'll test it out, if it doesn't mess with rail spawns then i have no problem with bfg being off.

I think my server runs osp 2.50 cuz 2.76 doesn't support gladiator bot functions, but I can't remember ever having a prob with weapon spawning anywhere, also it doesn't feel as sticky as gxmod or tdm does :P

weird, tourney always felt a lil "sticky" (movement wise).. gxmod feels alot smoother and tdm feels even smoother than gxmod.

tdm is my favourite mod, never experienced any problem with movement there. Got some nice features that really helps out, such as average ping, weapon hud and that it reloads map after each game. The vote to kick people is nice too, and after playing on servers where spectators can only talk mm2 during games, I just don't want to go back to gxmod. Also nice ref menu in tdm mod. Allthough lifts seems to get stuck at times :( Gxmod would be nice enough if there weren't a whole lot of bugs and things that are annoying. I don't think it's as userfriendly either, hard for people to come to gxmod and figure out the commands. Tourney is nicer though, seems to be really reliable at most times, and has a nice ref menu. Only time I really felt like movement was messed up was at a swedish server running battleground mod, there I constantly kept under-turning the last jump from box to mega missing it all the damn time. It was weird :) Most Euro servers runs battleground mod, it's nice for teamgames, and works ok for duels too. But I like tdm mod better, since I never really figured out how battle worked ;)

Anyway, tourney or tdm is good enough with me. If the rail doesn't disappear, just leave the bfg out. BFG is a gun that many people seems to utterly dispise, and no need to get people overly mad over one lousy gun. Unless that toxic guy is playing :P

now that I think about it the tdm mod is only sticky for me on the ds server, when I play q2p central it's not bad at all, so maybe its just all the modifications they make to it there

ya ds isn't a good server.. mostly because of the weird sounds on that server.. that and assassins are the only servers that reverse the sounds sometimes and have no footsteps behind walls.. its very annoying and confuses me so i just turn off my sound completely now when i play there. I wish I could figure out what causes the weird sounds so i can tell the server admins :\

Played the gladiator bot on my own host last night and had some problems with sounds in q2a. Standing in the middle area by RA i couldn't figure out if the rail armor or bfg armor was picked up unless railgun or stimpacks were picked up at the same time. But I always suspect it is me hearing sounds all wrong, and not the server/client. But assassins do actually have really messed up sounds, at least for some of us. It's really annoying, as sounds are of prime importance in 1v1 and 2v2 at least. Makes no sense that people can sneak up on you when you clearly hear them as they are in the arena or by water :(
