I guess there should be a place to discuss everyone's favorite bands/musicians/artists or what have you; and also to discuss how certain bands and musicians have changed their styles over the years (seems like every band except for a few progressively get softer and softer over the years..

) I for one love music, and will listen to many different genres. Mostly classic rock, metal, blues, punk, and a little hip-hop and reggae. Really love electric guitar of blues and the double kick that metal bands incorporate. I try to play close attention to all the instruments being played. There are only a few kinds I can't really tolerate... country, emo, and rap on the radio.

A few personal favorites are Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani, Kyuss, The Sword, Wolfmother, Soilwork, HIM, In Flames, Unearth, Tool, Trivium, He Is Legend, Queens of the Stone Age, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Deftones, Alice in Chains, Classic Case, CKY, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Guns and Roses, ACDC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Bros., AFI, Pennywise, Thrice, Sublime, Steel Pulse, Offspring, Millencolin, Nas, Rakim, Big L

My favorite metal bands are Linkin Park and Slipknot...

Well by far my favorite genre of music is Classic Rock. I wouldn't say I'm a music buff... but I can name just about any band / song they play on a classic rock station. Mostly because in my life time (now only 24) I have heard these songs 1000000000 times and they will NEVER get old to me. Classic rock won't ever die. Favorite bands? Man I don't know... so many great bands... I usually base what I like to listen to on the weather outside hah and nice summer day classic rock is by far the best.

I really will listen to just about anything, hell in the mornings I wake to a classical music station... but my favs genres are by far Classic Rock & Metal and I guess... Tool. Since nobody on this forum can decide what genre to place them in, I'll give them their own genre.

But there is music I can't stand... and that's B B B B BUTT ROCK. Butt rock totally sucks, I'm sorry. :\ I am talking today's butt rock. Not late 80s early 90s butt rock like GNR n shit. I'm saying the bands that play a single power cord the whole time and their voices sound like their taking a huge dump.

Today's Butt Rock Bands = Nickelback, Fuel, Creed, Chris Duarte, Seether, Three Doors Down, Puddle of Mudd, Life house, etc... Can't stand that shit. (sorry if you're a fan, my opinion I guess)

haha butt rock. i like the name.. i agree... the majority of the shit on the radio sucks to me as well. I would probably call Tool "hard rock" i'm not really sure.. i love their drummer, i can say that much.

I like all those bands.. just made a CD, got some Korn, Deftones, Pantera, White Zombie, 50 Cent, Biggy Smalls, Lil Wayne, Tom Petty, I like to mix it up : P

tom petty is cool too, some white zombie... I was never a korn of deftones fan though. Out of the rap you listed, biggie smalls is the only one I'll stand for.

i have Pantera's greatest hits, and i like that, but that is the extent of it for me... always have liked deftones.. haven't gotten into korn much.. and Tom Petty's not bad. as for the rap.. biggie's got a good voice and good lyrics, but i still feel like a lot of his (and tupac's) popularity stems from their feud and the killings/conspiracies.

well i'm not as big on steve miller and tom petty as i am on led. the best playlist is probably their "remasters" cd.. many of their greatest hits digitally remastered.

chzrles, did you every hear any johnny watson by chance? i've often heard that hendrix copied his style, but i myself have never heard any of his music.
