By this I mean relatively rare, but sweet ways to take out an opponent. Of course it has to be intentional and not a fluke. I have many but a few are:

Send a grenade up an elevator and get the guy at the top.

Rocket someone in mid-air for a nice splatter effect.

A well-timed rail/shotgun to push someone into lava or just crater.

Years ago, on the original Sheridan city1 server, I was getting shut-out against a strong player. I just kept not quite taking him down and the map is very much winners-outs with the power shield.

Well, at one point I had timed the PS spawn and hoped to race through to get it. I meet him as he has just grabbed the PS in the hyperblaster room. I SSG him, he sinks into the lava. Ahh, ahh, splash, he pops out. Blam, a full-on SSG dunks him back in. Beeeew, his PS expires as he escapes out for the teleporter. Bink, telefragged him!

Nothing too skillful or extraordinary, but it was a major turn around. That's why I like the Sheridan server, getting one kill can be huge.. a kind of battle of titans.

I used to hate the PS for the fact that it made things one sided, but now I appreciate what kind of different game it produces. The same applies to the larger maps - it really becomes epic sometimes.

That said, I guess I have a soft spot in my heart for denials. Such as railing someone right before they grab mega in dm1. Actually, in dm1, I spawed in mega room, grabbed some grenades, primed, saw a guy making the long jump for mega, and tossed. Hit him right in midair at the apex of his arch. It was beautiful.

A straight Rocket to the face or grenades to the feet.

Using trap buttons.

Bfg in a full room.

Jumping on somebodys head and hyperblaster him with maximal downlook angle.

Pushing players down wits SSG or Railgung.

Tickle them to death with the blaster or machinegun.

Cleaning a room full of players with the rocketlauncher.

I like overkill frags, like if you rocket someone and they're nearly dead, and then they go to flee. You quickly switch to railgun and snipe em as they try to run away, SPLAT! =)

My favorite is one of the following

2 Rockets towards at the top of an elevator that you just saw someone enter. (while I casually walk into another room for the next fight)

However I really enjoy to get the regular shotgun and rush a long standing camper/item shopper/or spawn killer. Generally they panic and miss about 5 times while I get a direct hit with every shot. It just sends a message: "You play like a complete pansey and I still kicked your ass"

Have had this happen to me... wonder who it was?!

Basicly the end of any good battle at sheridan is my fav frag. Especially if it ends with 5+ consecutive rails in a row.

At the beginning of a new map run around and harvest the spawnpads while they are still peeing or whatever -afk

I like firing a raocket at someones feet, launching them helpessly up in the air, giving me enough time to see where they are gonna land and putting another rocket there.

The one-shot blaster kill is always fun too!

I've been making oodles of double-kills lately playing railz, but I really get a kick out of leaping off of something at top speed (like the rocks on carena), flying through the air and landing a triple-kill with a downward-angled shot into a pack of guys dodging around one of the spawns..

feels positively splendid.

I have no favorite way of dieing but this is my least favorite:

Grabbing the invul - say on Frag Pipe - and running around to not kill anyone before getting fragged, or worse, to fall into the lava (still red) and slowly fry to death in my own stupidity. Very embarassing...
