I didn't like the ending right away, but I like it now.
There was no way to tie up all the loose ends they had, so they ended it with and ending that let everyone believe they were right about what happened next.

ok i finally caught the last episode last night and can now read this thread.

yeah crappy ending, i thought the whole family would get taken out while eating... oh well. What was up with the parking of the car? LOL just had to rub it in that woman cant drive huh?

The day after the last episode the polls were divided about 50/50 on who liked or disliked the ending. Now it's 80/20 in favor of the ending. I hated it but now think it was a good way to go out. I'm going with Tony got a bullet to the back of the head and it was lights out. Buuuut, I'll bet any amount of money that they offer Gandolfini $60 million to do a movie and Tony lives again.
