The new eriegames.net Quake 2 instagib server is up and running. I welcome you all to hop in and try it out. It is an exact replica of the former games.velocity.net (GVN) Quake 2 server that we all love and miss.

The address is eriegames.net:27910 (66.211.213.6:27910).

The maps on this server are all classics from GVN.

Darn thing does not seem to shift from map to map.  I connect (only player), hit fire - timelimt hit and then nothing.  I hope it can get moving GVN had really good custom map rotation and play.   The Maps were really nice for DM - so sprawling adventures, just a frag fight hanging around the next corner.  The instagib was fun too.  I hated instagib, but one I realized it defeated all armor whoring & +100 PU I liked it.

Thanks for the setup (but it looks like something may need a tweak).

im sorry to tell you that it has all the old gvn maps on it.

I fixed that. The problem was we ended up eliminating a map and didn't remove it from the server map rotation so it couldn't find it. This caused it to stay on the same map and not move on.

I went back and it worked good.  Nice.  Tasty needs some of those maps.  They were damned good custom ones for DM (and not just habib-styled spam maps) . . .
