Oh ok.  I got a rl friend into q2 today, and he works at the planet.  I was playing with him on a tastyspleen server and he said that one of the people who was one of the founders of the company was a big q2 guy who ran a community thing for it, and i figured it was you.

Haha, oh man.  If only I was one of the founders.  Instead of running on one of their cheapest celeron servers with a tiny hard drive and almost out of space, tastyspleen.net would be running on some quad-CPU dualcore behemoth... 8 total cores, gigs and gigs of ram, massive hard drives.... unlimited bandwidth.

Ahh, to dream....

i've got a x2 quad core, 32gb ram, 500gb of mirrored drives server doing nothing right now... we bought it to mirror our database server (which is the exact same thing) but the project never went any where (sql management is not my problem here...)... all the money just sitting there running nothing.

This thread has all the makings of a cheezy Star Trek episode!

In the beginning there was Q2.
After it died a small group of people kept on the tradition because of Quadz.
Quadz only kept the tradition alive.  If Q2 was ever to survive the clan had to find "The Founder"
Little did they know, that "The Founder" himself was long dead, but his memory ingrams were impressed upon a hard drive of a lowly celeron cpu at the planet.com in Dallas Texas.
The celeron "Founder" does not know that it is a computer and still thinks it is a diety.
"The Founder" tries to usurp the power of Quadz and bend all the players to his will.
It is up to a yet unamed player at Tastyspleen to be our "Captain Kirk" and outsmart "The Founder" and convince "The Founder" using logic and double speak, the he is no longer "The Founder" only a mere pc. 
"The Founder" will be so confused that his hard drive will crash and his cpu will melt, resulting in the freedom for all the tastyspleen players, who will then look to the new "Captain Kirk" to lead them.
The new "Captain Kirk" will explain to the players that they need no one to lead them and that they will have to fend for themselves and that is, in essence, what gives them their humanity and their will to survive.
The new "Captain Kirk" will leave orbit after making a witty remark to Mr Spock.
The remaining q2 players will all die of starvation one month later because no one was left to take care of them.
