To sign up or not?

well ... I would like to sign up for this next tourney ... but I am hesitant because I have a feeling it may interfere with quakecon.  Ill be going down there this year ... and I dont wanna miss matches if ill be there.  How long do you think this 2nd tourney will last for?

And speaking of quakecon ... who else plans on attending?

QCon is from 11th of August till 14th.

You could always play ASAP when the round will begin (it'll prolly be around the 4th Round if you ever get there!).
So Id say sign-up - we'll work something out. If we have a bunch of players who are going to QCon - we could always 'pause' the tourney a few days, or give additional days.

BTW for any who didn't get the reference, Quakecon is held at the GAYLORD TEXAN resort, in Grapevine, TX.

If I could get my hands on a van that could make it down to texas, I would pick up people on the way.  Unfortunately, my 109k vehicle would probably not make it that far ... so I am going to be flying down instead.  A round trip ticket from Albany NY, to Dallas TX is about $350.  Its not too bad.  I was told by pantaloons that all of the "specially priced" rooms for quakecon have been reserved ... so you'd have to reserve a reg room.  I believe the price is 189 a night? (for the cheapest rooms).

If you plan to loiter at the party, you could get a room at another hotel in the area around QuakeCon/Id.  However, I would suggest paying a little more to stay there to be closer and more involved (especially if you are brining a big box).
