Nominations & Predefined Maps:
Participants nominate maps that they would like to see in the Tourney. A vote follows so as to choose the most popular maps (prolly around 5-8 maps selected). Then they are Placed in different spots (1st,2nd Match in 1st,2nd Round) according to a template. For more information Please read: http://tastyspleen.net/quake/forums/index.php?topic=336.0 It is this exact format that we used in 1st Edition.

Maplist (teams choose):
Participants nominate maps they would like to see in the Tourney. A vote follows so as to shape up a Maplist (prolly 10-15-20?) And then for First Match, Attacker chooses, for 2nd Defender chooses, and for third, Most Frags choose.

Maplist (random selection):
Nominations same as precedent Maplist. But the Maps are randomly selected (1st-2nd-3rd) from the Maplist for each GameSet. (From DeathInc's Idea of random maps, slightly modified).

yeah I was thinking the same thing man, edge is so boring, the forced maps actually made you stop and learn something different, I think it was also what attracted me to getting involved in the tourney stuff as well, I honestly don't see why it was even considered doing it this way.

Well - The Edge has to be voted. Just don't vote it.

However - I don't think maplist is as bad as you make it. One team can always practice two obscure maps and will the whole tourney. Being good on the Edge doesn't win it all for you.
