Another little twisted f--k with a monkey see-monkey do syndrome. I hate the world (or some people at Virginia tech) so I'll load up my guns and kill as many completely defenceless students as I can. Oh and I'll shoot myself so I don't have to face the world or the victims families.
 Its just too easy for anyone in the US to buy any kind of lethal weapon(s). It gives too much power to any skinny sociopathic punk who's having a bad day. Plus now we get to listen to the media with their 20/20 hindsight to re-direct the blame to the university/police/counselors instead of to the little creep who planned it.

i agree with jager.

Me and the wife have been having this debate since it happened yesterday.

i just dont feel you can keep guns away from people that want to cause harm.   i personally have more faith in the fact that more people with guns would stop people doing harm with them much, much faster.  Although, i cant see a situation where even a few students would be armed going to class.  But, it is this way in israel and the middle east, everyone carries guns there.

Yeah, it's weird.  From what I'm reading, they keep doing studies comparing the % of housholds with guns in a given country, vs. the rate of gun homicides per 100,000 population, and are having trouble finding any significant correlation:

Seems like some countries have high homicide rates whether guns are involved or not; while other countries have low homicide rates even with a high percentage of gun owners.

I don't know about other countries, but here allowing people to carry guns would do more harm than good, leave that up to the police.

Guns were created for sole purpose of killing people, protection my ass, ive never been in a situation where putting a piece of hot lead into someones vital organs was needed (unless of course they themselves wanted to carry out the same act)  Killing has been going on sense the dawn of time and it's not going to settle down anytime soon, our population alone has a ratio of people that are simply GOING to be killers--guns or not, thousands more will die...and the sad truth is there is nothing we can do about it.

I just don't see how is all, lets say someone comes upon you with a gun drawn....you have a gun in your pocket...chances are, if the guy pulled the gun, he has the balls to use it...you go to pull gun...you end up dead

Guns are a form of protection and making them illegal is fucking ridiculous. We keep criminals in check with our right to bear arms. If you remove the largest category of weapon owners (the very, VERY, vast majority) who would keep criminals in check? Yeah, the police, but how miniscule is our law enforcement when compared the the all the gun owners in our country? very. If someone is an actual threat to the lives of me or my family(saying that he will shoot us) I will kill them, even if they do not pose an immediate danger like a gun to the face. Obviously it would have to be an extreme situation, but if it were the right one it would be too risky having them alive. Claim fear in court because you knew for a fact the guy was going to kill you/whoever and didn't know what to do and you went into a state of hysteria. EZ.
