Howdy,

Well it's a pretty boring demo...

But I figured I'd post it anyway. This is the guy who's been impersonating FNSHOW and BigTruck. His IP this morning was 69.225.7.98. The demo shows him using a small-fov aimbot, as well as a wallhack. You won't literally see the wallhack in the demo, of course... but he's pretty blatant about it. At one point he walks right up to an opaque wall and is blatantly tracking players on the other side of the wall.

We've partially automated a system for banning him now that has a chance of working even if/when his IP changes. It'll still require some manual tweaks to keep it going - but hopefully we won't be seeing much more of this cheese weasel.

LOL, OMG....same a hole that was on q2dm and kansas servers. man that is so depressing. the fact that a bot can join makes me question the score of so many players. Now you have to question everybody, lol. This guy certainly stinks, as his movements are so crappy, no straffing or jumping, no skills at all, but the bot with low FOV is pretty hard to see. Makes ya wonder!

Well... it's been like this forever. Meaning, there's no known foolproof way to prevent bots from connecting, or to detect them when they do join. Never has been... So nothing's changed in this regard...

However, our strategy is to eyeball them, record demos, and if we determine they're cheating, figure out how to ban them. Most cheaters are a lot easier to ban than this guy. $:-\$

So far, eyeball + ban seems to keep the servers pretty clean...

Indeed.. tastyspleen usually seems to be pretty devoid of cheaters.
