The Quad / Invun are off on the sheridan server.

i read the thread, and there is power armor, which is stupid for a 1vs1.  so the skill of the game focuses to much on controlling the power armor, the same reasons you take quad off, is the same reasons you woudl take power armor off. it takes skill out of a 1vs1, sure someone else can take the power armor, but that's not my point.  you should play armor on a standard 1vs1 map that's played frequently on tourney, because now the only reasoning your beating him, is because you know how to control the power armor on one map

I noticed you didn't mention the voting system that allows you to CHANGE THE STYLE OF THE FUCKING GAMEPLAY WHILE IN-GAME by using a totally different config than the one you would use for "stock FFA DM" gameplay.

Can you run an instagib server with stock q2? NO.
Can you make 2 teams of players who can't hurt each other and who have forced team skins in stock q2? NO.
Can you make someone invincible for 3 seconds off of the spawnpad in stock q2? NO.

You seem to have gotten so caught up in being a big-mouthed idiot that you've forgotten what you were talking about.

You were trying to imply that the OSP Tourney is the bone stock way of playing a 1v1 game in Quake 2.
I proved that, in fact, it is not.

It's actually a very configurable server mod that allows you to set up a server for nearly every single different type of gameplay.
You can choose to load a 1v1 config, but Tourney itself is not stock DM.

The sheridan mod is actually closer to stock DM than anything you've mentioned in this thread.
The only differences are the hyper/blaster lasers, and the spinkick which no one uses.
(I'm willing to bet Jager can rape you with ease, without ever using the HB or the spinkick)

Whining about the PS is totally noobish, as it is in plenty of good maps and it is integral to the game, just as all of the powerups are. It's bitches like you that think the invulnerability and quad are cheating, because you don't have the presence of mind or the skill to pick them up yourself.


Throughout this thread, you've been trying to imply that Sheridan is some crazy mod, so you have an excuse for sucking at it, when in reality it is 99% exactly like stock DM.

If you suck at sheridan, you suck at Quake 2.

I give credit to the great tourney players, they rock their chosen mod well and enjoy it.  I have respect for 'their' style of play.  To assume they are this elite playing group is a joke.  I know of many other servers, with players that destroy in the mods that they have chosen to enjoy.  There are lithium players that are unreal with skill, just as the tourney guys.  Along with railwarz players that can do things others can't come close to try.  I just think it is funny that the tourney group has convinced themselves for so long that their mod is the one and only - it is spoken as truth around here.

Again - I am not knocking them.  Take them out of their area of comfort and they would be beaten easily, just as others joining a tourney server whom rarely play it.  Put it in perspective.

I've repeatedly stated that I don't even play TDM.

I generally stick to FFA games in Q2 because I find the teamplay boring and pointless, unless its i-tdm (then it's just pointless).
I rarely play a 1v1 and when I do it's just to pass the time with someone I know who's idling on a tourney server.

You could have outscored me on an FFA railz server while aliased, as I'm barely ever trying very hard or paying much attention when I play there. If there happens to be someone there that I enjoy playing against, I'll show up and give it 100% but the vast majority of the time, I'm smoking a cigarette and listening to the TV in the background while I play.

unfortunately for you, you have no screenshot of any sort, and your claim that you did it while aliased practically screams BULLSHIT!
Furthermore, even a screeny would mean diddlysquat in this case, since it's not hard to spawnkill a bunch of people on an FFA server when you started with a railgun in your hand.

As I recall, the few times you've been on there with the name "Armor" or something close, you've either come within 5 frags of catching up to my score while still losing, or you've bitched out after 2 minutes cause the rest of the pack was pulling away from you.

I even checked the server stats and apparently you've only gotten 53 frags on railz all month with the only recognizeable alias you use that made the board. none of them were me. so how much winnin could you have been doing?
(for reference, I made 5,844 frags so far on railz alone. If I divided it by 100 I'd still have more.)
