As far as PS goes, I used to whine about it too. In my mind, it just simply was overpowered, killed the value of the Hyper, and drastically changed the pace of the game.

Now, after about a year, I know that it's not as powerful as one might think (though in city1 it is a little ridiculous, jager, because it's right next to a buttload of cells, but I blame the map more than the item there), it makes you CHOOSE between the value of the shield and the hyper, and the fact that the pace can change because of an item is a level of depth that not many fps' have.

The hyperblaser will never compare to the value of the powershield, especially on city1.

I'm sorry... but again, you have the option of picking up that powershield and collecting cells. If you refuse to yield that option that it's your own fault. When you lose cells from being shot you have the option of collecting more cells. If you don't want to? Then oh well, you will die. Keeping your powershield full of cells is just as important as collecting the yellow armor and megahealth in dm1...

I've learned to enjoy the pace of singleplayer maps with PS. The battles really become epic when both parties have PS and it's a huge cat-and-mouse thing. Sometimes with two cats...

That's the best part about sheridan. When I play a player like... defiant who knows the value of powershield and keeping his armor and cells stacked it makes for a adrenaline filled match. I don't enjoy killing somebody in two hits (although city1 lets you pull off some real fun air rails)... I would rather have a 20 minute battle before the other person dies. Granted it's 20 minutes of fighting and not 20 minutes of running and chasing.

I'd much rather kill someone in 1 hit than fight them for 20 minutes.
But, both are fun.
