Hi everybody!! wha happened?

so it's been a year or so since i last had Q2 installed on my pc and after re-installing it last night and then hopping on this and a couple of other Q2 boards i am thoroughly confused as to which anitcheating program (if any) i need to load, where to drop all the custom map packs (couldn't find a map file in baseq2) and if there are other client side things i should be running before logging into any Q2 server.  i apologize if there is a thread i didn't see which gives a list of what is needed to play Q2 these days or i can just jump on a server and begin fragging away...

thanks in advance, i remember this server being a great place to play back in the day and i hope to see you all on it soon

You can find current anticheat clients at: http://antiche.at

All the clients listed there (r1q2, EGL, AprQ2) are compatible with anticheat.dll.

As for maps, generally you drag the .bsp files into your Quake2/baseq2/maps folder.

And to be clear, you can connect to all TastySpleen servers with any client (that is not a cheat) and jump in.  You dont HAVE to use an anticheat, but it is the proper thing to do.  Anticheat.dll is the most respected and only current AC system.
