Is this a sign of possible cheating??

A player logs into the DM server.  Let's call him...oh I don't know.... how about Krap.  Console logs that Krap has joined the game and that Krap is NOTusing anticheat.  The next line howerver then reads something like Krap:NoCheat [IP] blah blah blah and the rest.  Is the server just confused?

AntiCheat and NoCheat are two different things.

NoCheat is a out dated client (which could be hacked...) and AntiCheat is a module that loads with newer Q2 Clients. Server looks to see if the user is using anticheat and will broadcast the answer

What you read in your console is the way the server and clients would be acting.  The server said that he was not using anticheat, which is normal because he is not using anticheat.dll.  His client then broadcast that he using NoCheat (v2.34 or v2.40), which is normal, they do this.  NoCheat and anticheat ( meaing anticheat.dll more info here: http://antiche.at/ ) have nothing to do with each other.  And the server is broadcasting the anticheat message, and the player's client is broadcasting the NoCheat message.

Everything is normal.   There is nothing there to suggest something abnormal is going on.
