erratic pings and packet loss.

Something in the TX area is throwing things off on several servers in the area.  In the split second those servers were pinged, it bounced that much, in that little amount of time.  That is why the same ip's are giving different ping measurements.  Just a guess.

You may be pinging more servers than your bandwidth or CPU on your router can handle at once, hence the delayed replies. Try turning down the max number of servers to ping at once in the options.
