mouse accel question in config

I just recently started using the R1Q2 client and i diable the xp accleration fix...but when i re-open my client it's turned back on..really annoying does anyone know of a manual command to fix that in config? also the railtrail too

Attempt to disable mouse acceleration on Win2k/XP/2k3. Note that this won't remove acceleration completely, but lessen the effect of it (Windows limitation). DirectInput is recommended to remove it completely. Default depends on OS, 0 on Win9x, 1 on Win2k+. Ignored if using DirectInput.

Set colored/xania railgun trail. Values from 1-5 will use a colored laser, values from 5-248 will alter the colors of the original railgun trail. Default 0.

There seem to be 3 commands in r1q2 that affect this:

m_xp
m_fixaccel
m_directinput

It may also be necessary to run a utility or something to get rid of it.  I'm trying to get more information since I am curious about this myself.

these should smooth out any control difficulties in R1Q2:
just add them to your config file..

set cl_async "0"

this really doesn't affect your hardware but it makes the movements feel a bit smoother to me, and it allows for higher jumping

// ---r1q2 mouse direct input accel fix---
set m_directinput "1"

this will negate any effect that windows XP is having on your mouse accel rate.

// ---r1q2 keyboard direct input---
set in_dinputkeyboard "1"

this seems to get rid of a lot of keysticks on your keyboard and it makes my keyboard controls feel a bit more fluid.
don't know how it works though..


I also recommend setting your mouse polling rate as high as it will safely go. (if it's a USB mouse)
here is a .zip with 2 very useful utilities for doing just that:

included in the .zip file are a program called "mouserate" which you just run and it will tell you what your mouse's rate is currently set to. stock is usually around 125hz.

the other program "usbmrs11.exe" sets it as high as your hardware can safely handle.
it will also allow you to easily switch it back if you have the slightest problem.
