I talked to dael earlier about what he thought of a 2v2 and he had the same mixed reactions about this I did, it's hard to predict how a 2v2 tourney is gonna go, you guys (tastypleen admins) handled the first one pretty well so I would say your 2v2 would most likely have the same success, but any bs encountered in the duels tourney is going to be doubled, all of the scheduling issues and whatnot just get worse when having to get four people on a server at one time. Of course I'm sure the biggest concern is that some of the better players are going to team with other good players to form what in gx we call "stacker" teams, which basically amounts to unfair teams skill wise. I personally am against random team pairing if that's what some of you are hoping is going to happen because 90% of the mix will get paired with someone they don't like or never wouldve teamed with anyways.

Anyways long story short I told dael I was going to team with someone with less skill to even things up, he indicated that he was prolly gonna do the same, and I'm sure naym will too, so no one needs to get worked up about stacking, at least not yet anyways.

they don't use powerups.. those are cheap

I say 2v2 - 3v3 TDM - All customs! On a Random rotation. That way, there is more of a chaos method not knowing what map is going to come up, which I think would make it more fun and less "So Damed Serious" and will force the players to have to adapt quickly because there would be no rehersals before hand so you would have to come up with team strategy "on the fly". I think that would be a rather fun Tourney....IMO

If it's going to be a TDM Touney, then the participants need to sign up as a team....Having individuals randomly assigned to team up together just wouldn't be a good idea. Such as if I want to Sign up, I would need to sign up as Team{KEA} and already have my other team member decided on. Thus turning the 2v2 Team into a single entity.

chaos is for ffa, leave that out of a structured tourney, which should be serious, you want to have fun, go play on the public servers, thats what they are there for, lets not turn everything into a grab-ass event
