1) I like the idea of TDM, but think there will be an even wider gap in skills than the 1x1 tourney.

That would be so unbelievably not fair to those who don't live on that map.  There are people who have mastered The Edge, so it would be unfair to those of us who like variety in the maps they play.

I just hope you guys can find a way to even the teams out.  Making them random would pair up people like Naymlis and daelmun. 

first off the the edge only tournament would prove who is the best at the edge, it has nothing to do with you guys dicking around in a 1v1 tourney, so obviously you and most other tasty spleeners need not apply, its for people who have trained hard and long on the edge, and to see who is it's master, even good 1v1ers need not apply if they dont feel they have enough experience on the edge, its only to see who is the best at the best 1v1 map ever

as far as evening out teams, whats the point? did we feel a need to even out the 1v1 tourney...oh wait thats right cause YOU CANT divide an individuals skill, whats the point in dividing up a teams skills, if you guys just wanna have fun and fuck around in 2v2 and play grab ass, get a team mate and jump on the tourney server right now, no need to waste a serious team tourney over it, if youre worried about daelmun or nayms team dominating the 2v2 tourney, you dont have to worry, they will triumph in the end anyway, stop trying to make it so that some random joe blow team has a chance to win it cause everyones skills were too thinly spread "YAY i got daelmun on my team, that means i have a chance of winning tho my skills dont merit it"

1) If there is a tdm tourney, I don't think seeding people into teams is a good idea.  For a tourney, people are going to want to team with their friends or team with the best competitively.  Also, the best tdm players would probably be very frustrated to be matched with someone who doesn' t know zones, binds, or how to hold fire.

2) I do think that organizing a tdm tourney within brackets is a good idea.  The best teams deserve to win the tourney overall, but why have the best teams play the worst?  What a waste of time, in my opinion.   Let the novice players play novice players.  I think we all have a pretty good idea of who fits what skill bracket (e.g novice, sport, pro or maybe just "class a" and "class b").

3) I do think CTF is fun, but I don't think there is enough interest in a tourney.  If someone schedules a time, I'd try to showup for pickup.

You have to remember that this is tastyspleen and not one of those forums where people schedule 1vs1 matches to be played on The Edge.  If you want a tournament based on The Edge, then I recommend joining a forum and schedule your own tournament consisting of other "masters" of The Edge.

you have to remember, this server doesnt belong to just the oldschool newbs, a goodly amount of talented players have entered into the server, and i dont see why they shouldnt be allowed to use the server for their own purposes as well, besides an edge only tournament would not take nearly as long as this tourney, it would be a small tourney considering only few would consider themselves to be the best on it, and it can probably be completed in the course of a day, or if not, it can be done during the course of another tourney since it wont interfere much

And there is more of a point of evening out a team tournament due to the fact you have people who try to ruin it for the other person they are teamed up with.  I certainly don't want to be teams against a really experienced player who talks trash to me just because I'm not experienced in team play.  I can only imagine how well a team with a great player and a below average player would work out...

i think this point is rather unfounded, considering who most of the good players are, have you ever witnessed daelmun or naymlis shit talking? then why would a team consisting of those two ruin it for you, about the only good player ive seen who talks alot of shit is adrenaline, so thats one, who cares, its on the internet, if you let shit talking get to you, you have only yourself to blame...
