Server Suggestions..

So i mostly tend to play on the mutant and tourney servers... vanilla is dull cause ut's just a total n00b fest. railz, well.. i'd play more there.. but I'll get to that later.. here's my thoughts and suggestions.

Some valid points, haven't played much on the FFA servers lately, but I do think timelimit is better than fraglimit generally. Sometimes the map ends before you even get to find out where they have hidden the rl. And as for the spawnprotection on the railserver, I've only played there once but noticed that it lastet quite long. Can see why people find it a little annoying.

Can someone explain the my map command, what it is all about? Just link to a previous thread if it's too much to explain, just curious. As I played FFA a week back or so, and the Crazed was living up to his nick, being all crazy changing all sorts of settings/maps and I was clueless

Anyway, I'm afraid the sole reason element made this thread was to show off his screenshots to the entire world. Such a bragger that guy is!

It's a map vote command w/out the voting.  It lets each player who wants to queue up a map to be played, with optional dmflags settings for that map.  First come first server basis.  Vanilla has 'mymap' but mostly limited to the single player maps.  Mutant has pretty much every map on the server, even some really 'ghey' ones because I didn't have time to audit them all.

I love the mymap command.  I use it a lot to play maps I like and what not.  even pisses people off cause i set it up the way I think teh game should be played.  +pu +ip .  I was going to suggest more commands if possible, like changing the fraglimit, or making a timelimit instead of a fraglimit, but then some moron like banes could set a fraglimit to like 300 or a timelimit of 60 min.

Yeah... had considered player-specified fraglimit/timelimit but imagined the same problem.

I'm fine with trying a timelimit-only setting for mutant...
I've set it to fraglimit 0, timelimit 10 ... see how that plays?

Now about the railz server, what turns me off about that is the spawn protection.  I'm not saying it's bad, but the fact that you get 2-3 seconds of spawn protection is a lil much, especially since you're equipped with a gun at spawn most of the time  (I know that doesn't apply on all maps).  But the number of times I've been killed by a guy that just spawned cause he had 2-3 seconds to size me up before I could even take a shot at him makes this server dull to me.  i'd like to see the protection time dropped to 1 second.. they can at least move before they get shot.

lol, I'd initially had the spawn prot. at 1.0 seconds, and someone griped that it was too short, so I bumped it to 2.0.

it's back at 1.0 now...  we could also try 0.75 or 0.5 or even none at all...

i think spawn protection should be longer
especialy on vanilla and mutant
i cant get away and get a gun in time before im killed

I think spawn protection should be a maxaimum of 3 sec's on everyone except me.
My spawn protection should be about 6 minutes
