newdownloads and how to use them....

OKiedoke, folks, I just downloaded the Tastyspleen downloads, and I'm trying to set things up here at the house so that my kids (who aren't as good players as you folks) can play on the home network.

If somebody would be so kind as to post some instructions I would greatly appreciate it. if it's more convenient, I can be contacted off-list as well.

 multiple comps to play on one server?

not enough info to correctly answer your question

if you just want your kids playing quake (id suggest  mutant for a bit more friendly, less obscene atmosphere) all you need to do is open quake and go to console, type 'connect tastyspleen.net'
(without quotes) and anyone can play, if you have internet (im assuming you do, since you posted here)

I'm sorry folks... I need to clarify..

I'm trying to put the maps on the home network for the kids to play with.

I installed the files into the seemingly appropriate folders, but I can't find them from my Q2 multiplayer list when I go to create a game..

Is there anything I can do?

Oh, I see - running a network server. 

I'm assuming its going to be DM?

The easiest way would to type "map mapnamegoeshere" in the server console. (ex "map q2dm1" for q2dm1.bsp)

Actually typing gamemap would be better, as the map command resets the server.
