A few questions...

How many maps have I completed on Tastyspleen Jumpmod?
How many maps are run on Tastyspleen Jumpmod?

The third question, and possibly additional others, depend on the responses to these two.

We see two sections in the data.  Top 10 times, which appears to be sorted, and in which you hold the #1 time.  Then the "all times" which appears to be unsorted, but which appears to include a fourth value which I presume is your number-of-completions (67).

So... the data is all there.  Wouldn't be tooo hard to write a script to tabluate it, if I had time... which I don't right now.  :(

Date of fastest completion, time of fastest completion, player number, and number of map completions - all for Souljumps specifically.  I'm talking the total number of maps I've completed, not the totaly number of completions of all maps.  Anyone using maplist and playermaps can figure this out.

That's all I have.  You can figure out what you want from the raw data.  Obviously it would be very tedious to inspect all the data manually, so some sort of data mining script is indicated.

My point is: the data is there.  This is where we stand.  You can either read the data manually, write a script, or wait for someone else to write a script.

BTW, in case it wasn't evident through all my ranting, I think writing such a script is a fine idea.  Would be nice to have a web link to such a script where one could do searches and get results.  So the script might be a tool to upload the current raw jump stats into a database (sqlite3, postgres, whatever), then provide a web page to do queries into the data to return results.  Or whatever.

I just don't have time right now, but I'll keep it in mind.

The question was practically rhetorical, since I have more maps completed than the server has listed... which isn't possible.  The point of the first two incredibly easy questions, which are already known to me and you refused to answer (probably because you knew where I was leading), is the server is utterly fucked.  I so hate having to use profanity, but you've led me to it, similarly with your refusal to shut down the private messaging system you, yourself, said isn't logged.  (BTW, HTF isn't it?  It goes through the same filters all other messages do.)  Not only isn't it logged, it isn't bound by silencing and probably not by permamuting, so I have to listen to ToxicMonkey, Wetarded, and this new little shit who keeps spamming both the scoreboard and my console with dozens of different names saying 'when are you going to suck Mesnik?'

At this point, asking any more questions is futile, and I don't beg, as nothing will be done about the horrid excuse for a system being run.  All I do is come on the server to play and take flak day in and day out (first words out of Bones' mouth this afternoon were "here's the asshole"), and - instead of asking how can that be or how can it be fixed - you ask why do I let it get to me or why aren't I using a non-authorized executable to make up for the lack of administrating.  Clearly, you've forgotten that 'set msg *' does what I want, except you autoboot anyone setting it to something that actually gets the job done!  I don't want to hear the excuses like those you give for the bugged corpse rail.  By allowing such, you're intentionally supplying the circumstances to allow it all without having the balls to ask me to leave.  There's the lack of respect I talked about, so don't expect me to show any in return, any more.

If I lost 5-1 in Tourney to Randy, your bestest buddy who you've let violate the same rules the rest of us are held to, but the scoreboard showed 5-10 because the server put the decimal in the wrong place, he'd flip - he'd have a coniption - he'd spew pea soup while his head spun around, projectile vomiting; I bet something would be done about that immediately.  OTOH, when the numbers don't add up in Jumpmod who cares, right?  Well, that's the entire point of this mod, accurate record keeping, and if you don't want to do that, shut down the server; if you do, fix it.  Leaving it the way it is currently is telling players to go straight to hell.

It would save me time if you would just say whatever's on your mind.  Here I was trying to imagine how to answer the questions you actually asked, and my best idea was to write a script to analyze the data.  I even did some research on the data format and posted it here.

It's a q2admin mechanism.  There may be a way to turn on some special logging of private messages; I don't know.  All I can say is they don't appear in the server logs.  Or any other logs in the server directory.


Not only isn't it logged, it isn't bound by silencing and probably not by permamuting, so I have to listen to ToxicMonkey, Wetarded, and this new little shit who keeps spamming both the scoreboard and my console with dozens of different names saying 'when are you going to suck Mesnik?'

I wouldn't expect it to be subject to jumpmod silencing, as I wouldn't expect jumpmod to have an effect on q2admin.  I would expect perma-muting to stifle PM's as perma-mute is built on top of q2admin's mute mechanism.

As always, if someone is abusing the servers in some way (including spamming private messages) you can always post a condump of what transpired.  That is the most straightforward way to help us get the information we need in order to determine whether administrative action is warranted.

You've been offered various levels of admin on jumpmod several times.  This is a free service.  If you can think of ways of helping out, but you just don't feel like helping out, well, that's your business.

I know a fair amount about q2, but even so, I continually learn new things about the game.  Also, my memory isn't always so good.  I don't even know what 'set msg *' means, although I do seem to vaguely recall some ranting about it in the past from you, maybe 6 or 8 months ago?

As far as "bugged corpse rail"... is this a jumpmod thing?  Or is this the deal where you can rail through a corpse into the arena in q2dm1 from up by the YA boxes?  I only learned about that a few months ago... it's pretty bizarre.  Not sure why you would be ranting about it though.  Is it a serious problem?  I don't recall any of the TDM guys asking for it to be fixed.

I hardly know Randy... and I have no idea which rules he's being accused of violating.  Once again, you seem to be expecting me to read your mind, then get mad when that doesn't happen.


If I had to guess why you show as having completed more maps than are currently on the maplist on the server, I'd suspect it's because the *.u files have accumulated in the server directory, even though the maplist has changed on occasion.  So there would be *.u files existing from maps that used to be in the server list, that now are not in the list.  However, I had no idea that's what you were asking.  If you'd asked me that in the first place, though, this would have been my answer.


It's tempting to set up an 'ax2grind' account on the server and give you access to it and let you run your own jump server.  Then the only person you'd have to rant to would be yourself in the mirror.  What do you say?  Should we set that up?

The question was practically rhetorical, since I have more maps completed than the server has listed... which isn't possible.  The point of the first two incredibly easy questions, which are already known to me and you refused to answer (probably because you knew where I was leading), is the server is utterly fucked.  I so hate having to use profanity, but you've led me to it, similarly with your refusal to shut down the private messaging system you, yourself, said isn't logged.  (BTW, HTF isn't it?  It goes through the same filters all other messages do.)  Not only isn't it logged, it isn't bound by silencing and probably not by permamuting, so I have to listen to ToxicMonkey, Wetarded, and this new little shit who keeps spamming both the scoreboard and my console with dozens of different names saying 'when are you going to suck Mesnik?'

At this point, asking any more questions is futile, and I don't beg, as nothing will be done about the horrid excuse for a system being run.  All I do is come on the server to play and take flak day in and day out (first words out of Bones' mouth this afternoon were "here's the asshole"), and - instead of asking how can that be or how can it be fixed - you ask why do I let it get to me or why aren't I using a non-authorized executable to make up for the lack of administrating.  Clearly, you've forgotten that 'set msg *' does what I want, except you autoboot anyone setting it to something that actually gets the job done!  I don't want to hear the excuses like those you give for the bugged corpse rail.  By allowing such, you're intentionally supplying the circumstances to allow it all without having the balls to ask me to leave.  There's the lack of respect I talked about, so don't expect me to show any in return, any more.

If I lost 5-1 in Tourney to Randy, your bestest buddy who you've let violate the same rules the rest of us are held to, but the scoreboard showed 5-10 because the server put the decimal in the wrong place, he'd flip - he'd have a coniption - he'd spew pea soup while his head spun around, projectile vomiting; I bet something would be done about that immediately.  OTOH, when the numbers don't add up in Jumpmod who cares, right?  Well, that's the entire point of this mod, accurate record keeping, and if you don't want to do that, shut down the server; if you do, fix it.  Leaving it the way it is currently is telling players to go straight to hell.
