Jump on DM7

Hello.

I've been noticing some people jumping up the wall from the center spawn point on dm7 (slimy place) to the rl. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I've been trying but unable to achieve.

From either side, jump on spawn pad and hit the wall.  Turn slightly towards rl as you do this and you'll fly up.

I'm not a good jumper, but here's a demo of it.  I get it on my third try.

pretty easy to do it from up the ramp too, if your comming from that direction

Ah, this one is probably the most useful trickjump on any q2dm maps, next to the jump to mega  on q2dm1. The key to the jump is to get enough speed coming into the jump so you can "slide" on the slope leading up from spawnpad to the RL ledge, as well as the right angle (so you don't miss the ledge and fall back down).

To get the speed, you need a least one strafejump coming into the jump, but if you come from the top-corridor leading down you can use 2 jumps to set it up. From the sides you can only use 1 jump before jumping up the slope, else the angle becomes wrong and you'll jump to the side of the ledge.

Only thing to it is finding where to start the jumps and a decent speedjumping technique, so you'll get enough speed.

I recorded a couple demos, one is where I show how I do the jump from the top-corridor (easy-way.dm7.dm2). I wallstrafe (strafing towards the wall while jumping) the first jump just as the wall starts and land just before the slope going down to spawnpad starts, then immediately I speedjump towards the opposite corner of the spawnpad (try to land exactly on the corners), then just use the speed to jump directly to rocketlauncher. It takes some time to get it right, but it's very reliable once you get it! You don't need to wallstrafe the first jump, you might as well just do it as bleach did, but it's just personal preference in the end.

Second demo is just the 4 main ways of getting up there, there are a couple others not shown, because they are too hard to do in a game, and not usefull once you know these 4.

yeah i first did it wallstrafing but now its just easier circle or strafe jumping it

the double jump off the ramp is giving me a headache  im just no good at double jumping off slopes for some reason

cept the ztn(3 or 5?) up to the rail, thats a small one though

That jump always impresses me - whenever I see SOMEONE ELSE do it.  I can't make it.

On DM7 there is also a squeeze jump from the SSG ladder to the "health+shells" area near the Hyperblaster.  I can do that one 10 percent of the time.

Myabe the squeeze jump plus this is the fasttrack to the RL on dm7.

Dael,  you didn't show ppl the ladder leading up there?
