I found it interesting and useful.  A great quickstart to Ruby.

I'd be interested in knowing how Ruby programs scale up.  In other words, if you want to write modules, compile it, etc..  I ask this vague question because I have more experience (i.e. comfortable in) working in Java.

I forgot to mention, you might be interested in JRuby.  http://jruby.codehaus.org/

It's ruby running on the JVM (a development effort now sponsored by Sun.)  As with Jython (Python on the JVM), JRuby classes and Java classes are fully interoperable.

i've attempted this thing three times now.. 1st time was awhile ago when you first asked quadz, I got some 4-5 chapters and got called away, forgot my train of thought and bookmarked it vowing to do it another time, 2nd was about 3 weeks ago (coincidently) where I was looking up ruby due to boredom in college and tried it there, but I got told to close it down ;\! and about a week ago, I tried again at college but somehow broke it and couldnt be bothered to figure out how to fix what I did wrong, i'll give it another shot later.

first impressions though, are that it's pretty clear to follow and informative.

I got to the toast poem part and I replaced toast with gayness and it broke.
