i may still use there OS's, but i sure as hell dont like MS
when an OS that has real competition to Windows comes around, ill be switchin fast

im sorry to say linux has not reached that point, or may never will
they are just not going in that direction it seems

this is proof right here (though im sure its not needed ) that microsoft is an unstoppable tyrant in the computer industry
why doesnt anyone take real action? are people that afraid of that wiener gates?

So you recognize that you are held hostage by them, but you'll put up with that because it's easier than learning a new OS?  If you're going to be a gutless turd, be upfront about it.  Say "I'm good at point-and-click on Windows because it's all I've ever known.  I'm frightened by the idea of feeling slightly lost on my PC while I learn.  Windows at least lets me feel like I'm in control, even tho I am not, and I'm too lazy to make the change."

i do admit that, but im not afraid of trying something new (i have used linux on my machine btw)

until a new OS runs everything like it does for me in windows (none of this half-assed approach linux does)
than i will gladly switch, at this time there is no such thing. hence why microsoft is winning

ReactOS. it is being developed with this in mind. though it has hardly gotten off the ground
that will be what destroys MS

I think you're confusing "absolute control over configuration at all levels" with "half-ass."  It's called modularity; something all well designed software demonstrates.

you seem to be missing the point

An OS that is compatible with windows apps and games (this will probably never happen no matter what)
is what will be the major desciding factor for everyone

some other gripes...
installation of software and drivers shouldnt require me to use 20 lines of commands at the terminal, it should be automatic
software shouldnt require me to build from source

those 2 are what make linux so user unfriendly

an OS that works with printers, this is one thing i know cant really be helped in linux

when linux adds all that, you let me know, untill then im sticking with windows whether i like it or not
dont worry, microsoft hasent received one dime from me, and most certainly never will

The printer thing you mentioned is funny, as with turbo print and the brand new canon printer I didnt even have to open the CD packet that came with the printer and I was ready to print a test page minutes after I plugged it in, as opposed to waiting to detect device, install drivers from cd, reboot, configure, test, fix.. etc like on windows.

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
