how do i deal with campers, there was one in particular "ScrotumOfLove" that was camping 3 maps in a row, so i just wanted to ask how do i deal with them, and what is tastyspleen gonna do.

The only camper I have a problem with is the one who camps in the tunnel in the lab (sp) map.
Although, I don't play in vanilla, ore even dm for that matter. 
I'm an ra2 and railz player. 

for the camper, I would order the rocket, ssg combo meal.

Hmm, Campers?
Well the first thing I like to do is offer them some of my Coors Light, but if I see that they already have a good supply then I like to ask them if they would mind if I got a beer from them (saves mine that way).
Next, do what Lemonzest suggests.

First make sure you stoke a good fire (poking fire with a stick makes you feel more manly )

Once they have a nice fire going pull out some marshmellows and do some roasting while singing or telling old campfire stories. (You should be still drinking "their" beer BTW). Next I like to point out the best places for them to catch the best fish. If they go, i'll try and go with them. (Nothing like setting around with the guys with your "rod" hanging out, belching, and farting without the worries of "OhFending" any ladies. Once the've caught plenty (try not to catch any of your own) tell them you have to go check things at your tent. Make sure to give them plenty of time to clean the fish. Once you think it's safe to go back, do so eating something crappy like a can of potted meat (because you was "unfortunate" and didn't catch any fish), they will feel sorry for you and offer up some of that fine Trout they caught earlier.

Oh, I almost forgot! Always and I mean Always help them to properly put out their fire. Because remember,
"Only you can prevent Forest Fires"

Okay, rant time.

Campers depend on predictable actions. They depend on people to pass a certain point repeatedly in the same way. So why do they aggravate us? "Every time I go for the red armor by hopping the crate, he rails me from behind that corner."

As horrible and unsportsmanlike a 'skill' such as camping is, it reveals more about how we react to it then about them themselves. If he gets you every time you approach him in a certain way, don't keep doing the same thing. It's too easy to get locked into a pattern that campers easily prey upon. Find another route, suprise *him*. Most maps are set up in a way that there is no foolproof camping spot. It may indeed be a map that gives campers more advantages than usual, but you still have to be able to step back and switch your pace a bit.

The first time you successfully take a camper out, that same guy will have a harder time getting back to the same stance he was in. In fact, you can then see if he heads for the same spot again, and predict his behavior.

what if the camper(s) camp right in front of a spawn pad,  and kill you b4 you can get out of line of fire? i know i could go in spec and stay above the pd so no one spawns but i want to have fun playing.

Unfortunately  it is a part of the game,

No ones trying to make light of you situation.
But like it or not, campers will camp.  Completely legal

Best way to deal with it is to not die,  keep yourself stacked and armored.
kill every living thing in your sight,  campers and otherwise.

Seriously, campers can make the game a lot less enjoyable for some.
Go after them with all you got.
Nail them, then enjoy it's own satisfaction. Stay in that area and nail them again before they have a chance to get in position again.

i enjoy campers. 

They change entirely the flow of the map.  Plus it gives you an objective.  Something to do.  Its fun to take them out, then keep them in the back of your mind, as stated by others.  When they go back there, remove them again.

Campers rarely can win.  The only map that it can be pulled off on is dm7/upper rl.

Jehar stated it best.  Campers show OUR OWN WEAKNESSES.  They frag on bad decisions.  You arent going to change the campers thoughts, but changing your own will be the healthiest for your game.

Lol, campers have been a part of the game for YEARS. Deal with them... They only get about 10 kills per map rotation, what's the big deal.

Only campers I've ever seen win a map is in city1, when they camp the nook at the top railgun in the court yard... and that's only if theres 20+ players in the server but 95% of the time, I'll beat em to the frag limit even if I join late. I really enjoy killing those guys as I jump from the GL ledge and rail them while in mid air.

just think of it this way, campers are the peopel that'll never get better at this game.. by chosing to not be a camper, is the first step to becoming a better player.
