- living in a world for all of eternity that was just pavement or stone. No nature, no creeks or rivers or lakes. no grass or tree's.

Hell on earth! aka: Concrete & asphalt jungle, aka: The Big City.
Nonstop noise, no darkness, no stars, never-ending stench, no animals (except pets, rats, and pidgeons), no privacy. bleh

On the bright side though, there's orange and green haired people with hundreds of face piercings, rap, crowds, murder, robbery, assault, roadrage, traffic lights, and the beautiful view of high rise buildings all around you, just to name a few.

I had to read 1984[/u] over the summer for AP English. I thought it was a really good book, the only book out of the three we had to read that I actually enjoyed. I got a B+ on my essay though because I rambled too much about stuff that weren't in the book.

No human emotions, stripped of everything that makes someone human, love and all the joys and pleasures in life... and just knowing everything is a lie but you can't fight it... sounds pretty hellish to me.

Don't tell me you like getting hit in the face with a dodgeball (which has happened to me on several occasions and one resulted in a nosebleed) and that you actually ENJOY flag football!!

You could draw some parallels between 1984 and present day America. For example a law which removes civil liberties in the name of security is called "The Patriot Act", or the invasion of Iraq is called "Operation Iraqi Freedom". The naming is very similar to doublethink.

I think for me, hell is either the "norm", (e.g. firey underworld place where you're constantly tortured and in pain and stuff like that for eternity) ((would'nt like to stay there for long!)) or, existence and nothing else.. simply existing and doing nothing, no computers, music, speech, people, no developed earth, a room and  just yourself, no bed either.. I think the main point is immense boredom and loneliness there, it'd simply suck.

i think hell is an experience of self imposed unhappiness.  i think each hell is personal and self created.

My own personal hell would most likely be about me failing something and not having the ability to correct the mistake or make amends of any sort.

That, or the fridge is out of beer and the car is out of gas.

Or i just ate large amounts of Taco Bell and all the bathrooms have been permanently locked.

Or a mixture of all of these things.

So why I had to do this assignment in the first place...

Tomorrow we're going to see a play, "Huis Clos" or "No Exit" for French IV/V and AP English (I'm an overlap, I take both classes )

The play is about 3 people stuck in hell and it's revolved around "hell is other people" which is what TooMuchFun mentioned. I heard there's a love triangle involved.

I had to write what my hell would be and why in French. I said a world where I'm invisible and I can't touch, eat, or drink anything. I'd feel so isolated... lonely... frustrated... AND hungry/thirsty all at the same time.
