To clarify the subject. We're talking about bot opponets for testing maps and such, not aimbots and cheats. The toughest bots I've seen are the 3zb and 3zb2 bots. The "intelligent" bots usually only run on predefined bot routes. They won't be able to get the mega in a new map, only the one that already has predefined paths. The 3zb bots are nice because they adapt as you play. If they see you get an item more than once, they'll try to get it themselves.I'm not sure the history behind the bots or what ever happened to the creator. The versions i have are kind of primitive and use impulse commands to add and remove bots. However they tend to blow all other bots out of the water as far as challenging goes. (remember to set the skill value before spawning these bots, just like single player)3zb is included as an attachment3zb2 can be found here with more routes aparantly and a java based launcher.
For testing stuff I normally use Goldsoft, Tmgbot and Gladiator. Actually Goldsoft is said to be an improvement on 3zb2, but some of the bots' death animations have glitches.Other cool features:"rocketarena 1" in console will change to a variant of the mod upon map reload."railarena 1" in console becomes instagib upon map reload.Making routes is the same as for 3zb2;-type: set chedit 1 > reload map -run around map, don't die-type: sv savechain-type: set chedit 0 > reload mapAs for Gladiator, at one time I had edited the bot.c files from the gladiator pak7.pak and lowered their level of aggression (so they won't just charge you with blaster) and tweaked a few other settings. I remember that made them behave totally different.
