Hi there ...

Can someone direct me to where I'm suppose to get this supposedly " AntiCheat " program for playing on * TastySpleen Servers *.??

I've already been to:- www.tastyspleen.net/
There is a download section ... But there is no * Specific * mention of this " AntiCheat ".??
I keep getting booted for some reason, so I guess it's this *Bot Protection* software their using.??
I just wanna know where this " AntiCheat " program is ... So I can just play.!! - Any help here would be great.!! - Cheer's.!!

You should be able to play on the servers even if AntiCheat isn't installed... should make no difference.

And No ... I'm not botting ... That's the point.!! - Why am I getting booted only from " TastySpleen Servers ".?? - Weird.??

::.. Follow Up ..::
Just a quick update of some sorts ...
Went to the link U supplied above, downloaded it, extracted it to the Quake2 folder, Done.!
It was just a .dll file & that's it.?? - OK.?? - And this is the " AntiCheat ".?? - Well ... For some reason, It Worked.!!
Just letting U know, all is fine, NOW.!! - But me ' Not ' having this small file didn't let me play on "Any" TastySpleen Server.??
So it did make a difference.?? - Besides ... As U get booted ... It does give you message about " YOU " not using "AntiCheat".!!

Once again ...

for the link to " AntiCheat " ... It makes a big difference ...
Now I can play for hours instead of being booted soon after 1 or 2 minutes ... Again ... Cheer's ...

Hi,

I'm glad you're not getting booted now. But I'm still mystified as to what the problem was. We don't automatically boot people for not using anticheat...

Yeahh, I know ... I have no idea either.? - That's why I thought I'll just get the "AntiCheat" & be done with it ...

I just use the standard stuff ... Windows-XP, GameSpyArcade-2.05, Quake2 ... And It was only on "TastySpleen Servers".?

I dunno what it was, but since installing that "AntiCheat" ... All my problems have *disappeared*.!! - And now I'm a happy player again.!!

if you just use normal q2, the anticheat won't work for ya.

and if there are hax in your q2 folder tastysleen will automaticly kick ya for those..
regardless of if you have anticheat or not.

another possibility could be q2admins buggy lag thing.. so many ppl get booted by that
just takes a lil freakyness on the part of your ISP to trigger it.

anyhow, to get the anticheat to work try r1q2 with it, need the r1gl too.
or the aprq2 client, works with that also.. each has genuinly good improvments,
aside from the advanced cheat detection they also have much smoother gameplay I think.

Now for some reason AGAIN ... I now get booted AGAIN.?? - I have the " AntiCheat " installed.!! - So what's the prob. here.??
Just looking @ your post here Reflex ... I'll ALSO install these other " Things " to my collection of " AntiCheats " already on my machine.!!

I have a bought copy of Quake2 ... I have No-Bots ... I have no HACKS ...
It's as clean as U can get.!! - So that brings it down to the " Buggy " side of detection.?? - Obviously it's doing " False-Positives ", thus not working.??
If a program, plugin, whatever, is mistakenly detecting a " LAG " as a " BOT " ... Detection-Software has to get better, otherwise, Why boot me.??

OK ... I'm gonna install these so-called " Other AntiCheats " ... Just so I can play a dam game.!!
- But I still wanna know, Why Am I Getting Booted.??

Lethal... how do you run Quake2? Do you open the quake2.exe? Do you run a 3rd party program like 'All Seeing Eye' or 'Gamespy? If so make sure these programs are set to run the correct .exe file that is not quake2.exe. If you run quake2.exe, then anticheat will not load. You must run one of the following Quake2 clients...

After placing the files from one of these clients into your Q2 directory, run the correct .exe they come with. This will load AntiCheat.

Besides... TS does not require AntiCheat to play on the servers. I don't think not having anticheat running is your problem to begin with.

Most likely it's the q2admin software. It doesn't know anything about anticheat. It gets confused by lag. It sucks, and I need to hack its code to stop it booting people.

Just make sure Gamespy is loading r1q2.exe and not quake2.exe when you double click a server to join.
