New tourney predictions

Well since the naymlis/adrenaline event happened, the tourney outcome has shifted somewhat I think, and not just in the finals match with naymlis either, now that I've taken a closer look at the competitors, rules, and maps per round my opinions on a lot of what's going to happen has changed, so I figured I would make a forum post out of it....

I'm listing these by the brackets going down from the top and I'm only including ones with players I know first hand...

Round 2:
maps: q2dm1 ztn2dm3 q2dm3

Bracket 1: kong(if he would play his match already) vs corky: this one could go either way being that kong is somewhat inactive and corky has been playing for a while, but since it's edge, ztn3 and dm3, I'm going to say kong 2-0, if kongs opnent from round 1 gets a bye its corky 2-0 ez

Bracket 2: daelmun vs lucky: pushover game, dael 2-0

Bracket 3: daized vs jquest: sadly, another pushover, daized 2-0

Bracket 5: element vs abusive: elements might have to struggle for a minute but as I said before with the maps being dm1 and ztn3 it makes this round more gx player friendly, so element 2-0 (go rob! )

Bracket 8: sean vs shadow: I know all the maps & I'm more active than I've been in the last 6 months, sean 2-0

Bracket 9: cartman vs defiant: defiant I think surprised my entire camp yesterday bitch slapping my little brother 2-1, I guess thats what he gets for being inactive but defiant I think is a definite underdog in this thing, but I think his downfall is going to be not practicing as much with the rest of us and again with the maps being dm1, ztn3, dm3 in that order (dm3 being carts worst map out of that set) cart's gonna take this one 2-0

Bracket 10: haunted vs whoever: didnt haunted go out of town?

Bracket 11: banes vs deathinc: I say deathinc because he's my pick to win his first round match, but anyways banes has been on the warpath all week and unless he suddenly decides to say screw it and quit playing everyday this is gonna be banes 2-0, I know sometime this week I'm gonna show him some stuff on the rage

Bracket 14: Leizu vs gator: this one could go either way, but I'm gonna go with leizu 2-1

Bracket 16: Naymlis vs m^ster: who isnt a pushover to naymlis? he's like thresh on crack hehe tim 2-0

Round 3:
maps: aerowalk grom_dm3 ztn2dm3

Bracket 1: kong vs daelmun: dael knows aero better than I do and I somehow doubt kong knows grom_dm3 at all so I'm gonna say dael 2-0

Bracket 2: daized vs bigwig/graphite: I dunno who daized is going to be facing but I'm sure he knows aero and rage so I'm gonna say daized 2-0 or 2-1 depending on how the grom_dm3 game goes

Bracket 3: element vs iou: rob is weak on aero I heard, so I'm gonna say element 2-1

Bracket 4: sean vs devious: I'm a badass on aero without even knowing the ra jump and by the time this round comes around I will have some nasty prediction rail shots on grom in 2 weeks when I have to play this match so I'm gonna say another sean 2-0

Bracket 5: cartman vs haunted: pushover, haunteds ping is awful, cart 2-0

Bracket 6: banes vs pantaloons: I think banes will continue to suprise all of you and well we all know how many times he's played aerowalk this week, so I'm gonna say banes 2-1 cuz I doubt he will take the map off aero long enough to learn grom haha

Bracket 7: leizu vs chacal: leizus my fav but I dunno if either of these two will spend too much time practicing these maps, so leizu 2-1

Bracket 8: naymlis vs whoever: knowing naym he will prolly have invented & patented 3 new circle strafe jumps a new way to get to RA with a grenade jump on grom by the time this match happens, so naym 2-0

Round 4 (quarter finals):
maps: ztn2dm2 q2dm1 aerowalk

Bracket 1: daelmun vs. daized: this is going to be an interesting match as I've never seen these two square off 1v1 in all my time playing q2, both of them on top of their game have surprised me numerous times, and this one could definetly go either way but I see dael knowing killing machine just a little better than daized so I'm gonna say dael 2-1

Bracket 2: element vs sean: our skill levels aren't too far apart but since I started learning ztn2 I've become somewhat of a beast on it, but I can see myself losing the edge to rob very easily, but seeing as how aerowalk is going to be the deciding factor I'm gonna have to go with myself, sean 2-1

Bracket 3: banes vs cartman: if banes keeps on practicing aerowalk 12 times a day I think he's gonna have a good shot at beating cartman on it but since killing machine and edge are first I think it's gonna be cart 2-0 here

Bracket 4: naymlis vs leizu: pushover game #4 for naym, 2-0

Round 5 (semi finals):
maps: ztn2dm3 grom_dm3 q2dm3

Bracket 1: sean vs daelmun: originally I said dael would walk away from this thing the winner but now that I saw the maps for each round I realize I have a better chance than I thought, while this one could go either way I have beaten dael on maps like these before, and I stand a much better chance vs him on rage and frag pipe than I do on edge and aerowalk, however I thik that dael will surprise me on grom_dm3, so dael 2-1

Bracket 2: cartman vs naymlis: sadly yet another pushover, but on the upside naym will have patented 2 more jumps on grom so it might not be a total wash, naym 2-0

Round 6 (final):
maps: q2dm1 q2dm3 ztn2dm3

Bracket 1: naym vs dael: these 2 play all the time but the outcome will be the same as always unless dael pulls out a crazy win on dm3, so naym 2-0 or 2-1

hehe dael has pulled a couple wins on me on dm1 and dm3 since i started playing on this pc, so i wouldn't be suprised if he pulls off another if we play in the finals. lol @ thresh on crack.. im actually on crank, theres a difference.

Also, I predict Gator will Take Leizu, then Chacal will take Gator.  Other than that, I think you're either right on, or I don't know the players well enough to chime in =)

One thing most all of us can agree on is that Naymlis will take the whole shebang (since I'm not in the tourney =P).  Though I do have much respect for Dael, but I think Naym just is on a whole different level.  Course, what do I know, I'm mainly basing this on FFA skills heh.

I actually beat Kong on dm1 a couple times tonight. But they were really close games soo im guessing he will just practice a little crush me.

I need some serious practice if I'm gonna reach the final. ztn2dm3 just isn't my map, think it's the only map I haven't improved on lately. They should have picked match1 over ztn3 But that being said if I happen to even reach the semi's I think it's gonna be though. All I can pray for is RL/chain spawn at first, securing me the RA room right away. Grom_dm3 as I said, I need a lot of practice to be competitive on that map, it's sorta open and railoriented not so much spamming of controlling rockets. A bit campy too, which suits sean's style

i would like to make a correction to your tourney predictions regarding myself

i really will only be happy being eliminated by nayms

as far as pawnzo, though he may be stronger than me by a little bit on default maps (edge, rage)
he will not practice as much as me, and i may be able to shut him out in aerowalk and grom before we even reach rage, if not then ill have practiced rage with you and you will have taught me the enlightenment of rage  , so same outcome as pants

then cartman, well thats a few weeks away, i think by that time, i should have taken my game to the next level, you know i play aeroWACK too much, and i continue to improve on turtling machine so that my shell on that map becomes even more rock solid, ra+rl control makes banesy hard....uhh given my metaphor that is  i then face naymlis where i lose by 1 frag on the third map 

this is not my prediction, this is my goal

well if they're talking about my match vs MaD{KEA} I let up in the last 3 min and let her kill me a few times.. since I'm friends with her IRL.. didn't wanna hurt her pride.. she tries hard..

as for when I was playing adrenl1ne.. he beat me 20-5 on that map.. but I had control in the end when I started to actually feel rhythm..

either way.. we'll see how it all turns out.. but I see a lot of good possibilities in this..
