im interested in alot of the stuff im seein here, specifically the bullet puffs

.. and a few other pieces prolly. But yeah, those bullet puffs were kewl.
never seen them before
Keep in mind,.. when they played that game, they didnt have paks

even low quality, that was a fun watch...

Have you ever seen, or heard rather, of a pak to get a 'rail hit' sound like in q3a?

I've never pulled apart any of the Q3 pak files to archive the sounds, although my own custom paks for Q2 do have a few Q3 sounds like the shotgun blast sound for the ssg which I extracted from other custom paks I found around the internet. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard at all to extract that particular sound, I believe it would be called the "udeath.wav" sound in any given custom made Q2 pak. I don't think I have that particular sound archived in my sound downloads on my pak item archive page, but if you need any help, just gimme a holler via PM here and I'd be happy to see what I can do for you.

If you're interested in making a personalized pak file, as I mentioned, my site has a decent little archive of individual items to mix and match and make your own.

It's not the sound I want, its that I want a sound to play when I hit someone with a rail.

There's no way to easily make that happen. There is no special sound that used for when a player is struck by a shot of any kind other than the player pain sounds. I suppose you could use a sound editing program to layer that Q3 sound over the male and female pain sounds, but they might be then flagged by anticheat as modified files, not sure. Other than that, I'm not readily aware of any way to cause something like that happen in game. I suppose maybe theres a way to add some kind of script to your cfg to cause a sound to play. I wouldn't know where to begin with such a thing though.

Anticheat at tasty just pics up the railhum, and footstep sounds... so far as my pak anyhow, and its modded to the hilt.

The q3 lil' beep you get when you hit someone is what I think you are referring to, kewl sound.. I have that sound for when a blaster round hits the wall, sounds neat when its the hyper.
