Well first you have to somehow save YouTube videos (.flv format). There was a program called KISS (free) which worked but now has been disabled. You could save anything off YouTube with it.

I use GOM player to take stills (also free) from videos. But VLC player can do it too. The main thing is to capture the video first.

Everything your computer downloads as content on IE gets stored in this folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 (XP)
C:\Program Files\internet explorer\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 (Win95/98/ME)
C:\Windows\internet explorer\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 (alternative for Win95/98/ME)

All pictures, video, cookies, and flash. All your youtube files should also save in there after you watch them. If you want to save a news video, most save in .swf format (flash player). Just open that file in internet explorer. Easiest way is to sort each folder by size. The largest files are video.

That's true for all the OS's I have except Vista. I defy you to find your Temp Int Files in Vista. It is so security freakazoid that they are hidden somewhere. I can clear them but not access them. I even cannot edit my Start Menu like I used to.
