I'm just saying it's a good client , it always has been . If you wont play a player becuase he uses nocheat do to only suspect that it may be a hacked version that is just crazy . there is plenty of other clients that have been emulated at least with nocheat it was one that was public . I am not disputing there may be other well made clients either but thats all matter of opinion and personal preference .

anti cheat itself is a dead word in q2, there is zero effective clients, they are just used for little things like font scaling and shit like that,  1/2 of the anti cheat clients that have come out in q2 have been made form the same stupid brazilian retard who made hacks himself and admitted to it.

anyone whoever says anything about getting anticheat in q2 is a fucking retard or extremly new to the game.  The q2 code has been open source forever so trying to stop cheaters without banning is impossible.

This was true, up until recently.  R1CH's new anticheat system ( http://antiche.at ) is a different breed of animal than the simplistic anticheat clients in Q2's past.

In addition, unlike previous solutions that consisted of a specific client, R1CH's new anticheat is a .dll that works with several clients: r1q2, EGL, and aprq2.

For everyone running Windows, I heartily recommend upgrading to one of these clients, with the anticheat dll.

Sure it's a matter of opinion. Nocheat is old. It's a dead project. It's time to move on to newer and better things!

u should know this more than the rest quadz.. but anticheat in q2 is an oxy moron now,  Sadly the best chance we have to make q2 fair for everyone is to release a wallhack and take anticheat clients away, atleast then there will be no advantage for those who get through the pathetic anti clients.

Diablo2  has a file called Maphack, basically the same idea as a wallhack, and even though its considered cheating and u can have yer cd key banned for using it, 100% of diablo2 players still used it. But atleast it was fair that way...

I admit, I used maphack for Diablo 2. ROFL!
I never got caught, as it was a client side packet scanning app that was pretty much undetectable.

I also ran a java powered magic-item finding bot that wrote intself onto my d2, and played d2 for me, hands-free, all night long for 6 months and sold the proceeds on ebay to zitfaced little kids who couldn't be bothered to find good shit on their own and used mommy and daddy's money to buy imaginary weapons to use in a video game.

I'd say the only reason I consider wallhacks different than this kind of "cheating" would be that, I wasn't playing against real human players, and pretending to be awesomely fast and skilled and good at predicting my enemy.
My bot was killing game generated AI controlled monsters over and over for profit and never interacting with a real live person or making their game less enjoyable.

No amount of wallhax would make q2 better for anyone, even cheaters.
No one would play this game in 2 months if everyone got wallhax today that made it past anti-cheat servers.
FPS games are about having different skill levels, not an even playing field where crappy players get a handicap
to help them beat a skilled player.

they had alot of bots in the MMO i was playing before
i used to see alot running all over, even affecting me by stealing all of kinds of stuff from right under me

"bot" was a general term, refering to anyone or anything not playing the game legit
they were mostly people in third world countrys in sweat shops, honest to god i couldnt beleave it when i heard people where doin that
the developers of the game knew about it, but they couldnt do anything about outside the usa other then ban them from the game when they were caught
but because of the shit customer service, most of them were free do this for months (even after many complaints), and its still like that probably

whirling.. ur a fuckin retard, miss the point much?  u are assuming everyone is legit for some reason, but 1/2 of q2s notable people are walling and several are banned already,  im saying release a working wallhack, screw anitcheats and make it fair for the legits who have to play vs wallers.
