Rail gun!

Just thought all you rail freaks would like to this this about a real rail gun.





The Univsersity of Texas at Austin's Institute for Advanced Technology (IAT) Electromagnetic Systems Division showed off it's electromagnetic rail gun (RailGun) technology demonstrator at the 24th Army Science Conference (ASC 2004), and DefenseReview was lucky enough to get to view it being fired. IAT's demonstrator rail gun fired a lightweight aluminum projectile (approx. .45 caliber) through a soft target (cardboard or foam, I think) at high speed, and, well, it was pretty neat. Founded in 1990, IAT is an autonomous research unit tasked with aiding the U.S. Army and Navy with "basic an applied research in electrodynamics, hypervelocity physics, pulsed power, and education in related critical technologies". In other words, they research, build, and test electromagnetic RailGun tech for the Army and Navy.

Ahh yes ive seen this in development about 4years ago down in UT, OF course they were being developed for mounting them on tanks since they were kinda big. but they were able to pierce through very very thick armor plating and then some
I wonder with the current technology if they have been able to bring down the size. I think they even have a documentary on discovery channel or one of thoes channels about this too

nah the deer knows he's food.. he's just not smart enough to shoot back

wasnt there a game like that? like a parody of deer hunter, where you play as a deer who shoots people or something

Banes, you sound like a good canidate to join PETA (look it up). They dress up in deer costumes and inhabit the woods during hunting season to disrupt it. You'd fit right in with your mentality.
