It should work again now, the anticheat server ran into some thread problems.

Hey guys, I'm new

I decided to sign up to see what's going on with the implementation of the beta anticheat client.

I've downloaded the latest anticheat.dll and r1q2.exe and it's been working great until yesterday.
Yesterday, I was kicked from the vanilla server... twice. I checked the message after the second time I was kicked and it said I was using a modified client. Well, I haven't changed/added anything to these 2 files and I certainly don't have any cheats on my end.

Should I downgrade it to a more 'stable' version?

Please... any info/help would be greatly appreciated

that has nothing to do with your client, but more to do with an unstable connection.

Changing clients likely wont change that. Just part of q2admin.

Whenever I enter a server with anti-cheat, when anti-cheat loads I get a click in my speakers. It might be because I am using onboard audio. Anybody have the same clicking sound when entering a server?

It is only one click, it sounds like when you unplug the speakers from the comp while they are still on. Happens whenever I enter a server. I had similar clicks in a game that is very CPU intensive whenever things exploded. Onboard audio is an abomination.

Though console already told me during a game that this anticheat thing is not obligatory, I hope, it will not be so some time in the future. Reason?

Well, it would lock out us Linux users, because there simply isn't any anticheat.dll (or rather: its unix counterpart)! Although I sometimes still use Windows for a while, I would hate to be forced to do so in order to play on the tastyspleen servers.

I decided to just add a ".bak" at the end of the anticheat.dll file so it doesn't get detected on the vanilla server. Haven't been kicked since then. I guess it'll be a temporary fix for now $:-\$

I just updated the .dll to hopefully fix a few issues, give it a try now.

Thanks, r1ch ---- this appears to have fixed the framerate lag issues I was experiencing with anticheat + r1gl...!

I installed the new dll but when I try to join a ts server R1Q2 just hangs up. Is it because the server and client need the exact same dll?
