We had some real good fights last night on Sheridan, a few real good players were making staying alive a bit challenging. I must say EyEsTrAiN was doing quite a number on all of us. Around 10pm we had around 12 or so people playing which was making finding guns pretty challenging, then you had to actually hold onto your weapon by watching out for kicks.

I would still like to see a night when jagermonsta, Defiant!, EyEsTrAiN and Optica are all playing at the same time. That would be pretty chaotic.

I actually played yesterday a lil before the action started... and totally did not use spinkick  :ohlord:   :frustration:
would have come in handy as hell too, next time I guess.

I noticed something odd when traveling along the ledges by rl,  almost like a sticky/slippery wall,
never noticed it before,  something modified there?  or always been like that?

I remember from way way early on in q2's day something about sticky wall syndrome.
Never experienced it back then,  but I didnt play very much - I was a q1 whore,  but this is what
I imagined it would have fealt like.

Always been there. Ever since the orginal Sheridan. I think it's fun the surf it hah.

Good times! I wasn't having a hard time really. Once I finally got geared up I didn't end up dying for a while. I got to frag that streak holder too! (you're welcome wheet! sorry eye haha.)

Hardest part is when you get ganged up on... I get people spinkicking me in my back and wheet charging at me with rockets blasting. Death seems to always happen in the same place. The Red Armor room... normally you are only there for one reason and that's to regain the red armor. So most of the time you are out of armor or only rocking Yellow Armor once you get to that room. What sucks is when good players guard it FOREVER! You bastards... It's just as bad as running the powershield really.  :P But... it's part of how you play I guess. Like running the mega/ya room in q2dm1. Oh speaking of mh, death seems to come quickly in the mega health room as well. Such close quarters, rockets / super shotgun really rips you apart.

In my opinion I don't think the color idea is a good idea because it singles out the streaker. MOST games when you are the one winning the game tends to be in your favor. I think the streaker should get even more powered up (Enable 300 armor/cells)! Making it harder for the gang bang to take them down.

That ledge and others in the Single Play maps have an "ice" attribute added to them by Id software when they designed their maps. You find yourself moving along in spite of yourself. No idea why they're thee other than increasing the difficilty. Launch Command has the same ledge

Yeah, EyE was getting a little close to touching my streak for a bit there, I ended up getting quite a streak going myself until EyE ended up making rockets explode on me. Maybe the ice is supposed to be because the courts are outside so it snows on random spots of random ledges.  :humm: It makes it a bit difficult to jump in some spots though. It was a good Sunday night at that, I havn't seen Defiant! there for a few Sundays though and he's the one that started the whole Sunday thing. Maybe he saw us there and got scared.  :eyecrazy:

I've never loaded the map into an editor to see if any 'ice' attributes are there on that ledge.  So, it could be...

But I've guessed it's a sort of physics glitch.  As in the attached demo, the ledge itself isn't slippery.  The slip'n'slide only happens when you're touching the wall.  Also, the effect continues in midair over "left" of the ledge.  (Also, it doesn't seem possible to jump while in slip'n'slide mode... also different from ice.)

It was fun playing the other night! I actually didn't even realize it was Sunday, and part of me was wondering why everyone was at sheridan haha. For a bit there, I couldn't hit a rail to save my life. I knew if anyone was to end my streak it would have been jager or Wheet. I like the idea of the streakholder glowing after so many kills and getting some kind of powerup after more kills. Would give it a nice twist to the gameplay, and would keep the streakholder somewhat running, or not if they get a quad or invul.  :evilalien: I tend to try and run the entire map if I can, only hanging around the main area when I'm all ps'ed/armored/mega'ed up. Fun battles, good fights, and a fragtastical time. I look forward to next Sunday, gg's everyone.  :beer:
