do any of you guys remember heat.net? those were the days
i even have the heat.net male skins somewhere around

Ok, I just polled the master servers with gamespy and filtered out the inactive returns.

Master servers used were :
gamespy network - 402
gameaholic - 126
telefragged - 0
Russia - no response
ID master - no response
PQ master - no response

Total active servers as of right now - 465
Note that most of the gameaholic servers are also reported by gamespy network.

If you were gonna poll just one master server, I'd use the gs one.
Anyone know of other masters I don't have listed here ?

i did a refresh on ase, and it said 758 active

Does that mean you get a ping response from all 758 ?

and what masters are you polling ?

i have no idea what masters, i dont think theres a way to see what masters ase uses

I used to hang out there some, but Mplayer was my home.

I never did wander over to heat.net, I was always with Mplayer ... at the time I think there was some conflict between Mplayer and Heat. Now I dont really use any server browsers, I play here and thats just about it.

Yeah there was a conlfict between Mplayer and Heat
People from Heat would come to Mplayer and talk shit and then players from Mplayer would go to Heat and talk shit

Mplayer inherited a lot of people whne Heat went belly up.

i went to gamespy afterwards to play on real servers
after mplayer was bought out by gamespy
all the mplayer n00bs (no offence) didnt know how to connect to a server :p

i use gamespy3d now...

I used to play q2 sometimes with mplayer....but I mainly used Mplayer for Total Annihilation. That game was the shiznat

Ive used Mplayer and heat...and GSA..and I wish Id have kept the first couple of versions of GSA.Now I dont use any game browser..I write down any servers i find in a notepad..and just do it the old fashioned way...Connect XXX.XXX.XXXX

I use ASE, used gs for a week or so untill someone linked me ASE and since then I've never touched gs.

And everyone zone.com is where the real players come from
