There's many points you can make with "it's just a game"

Such as: "Don't get angry when you lose"
"Don't take it personally"
"Blah blah blah blah"
"blah blah Blah blah"

I don't mean to make fun of the first two... I think they're very true... but I don't think it being a game changes anything... "It's just life"

And I don't mean that I hate people who say that, of course. I hate that it's used as a justification for a lot of different things people say.

well.. some people like this game and take it alot more serious that other people, so it makes the 'its just a game' statement redundant, but off topic from that, its simalair in the way that say "its only the interenet", if you catch my drift?

True that some people take normal gameplay personally - you can see their rage dissolve their focus.

However, being in "just a game" doesn't validate someone being a jerk by cheating or team killing. Clearly, the person is trying to characterize the game as insignificant so that their improper behavior is acceptable.

This is just like the "yawn" response when you start beating some egomaniac. They can't deal with the loss, so they try to imply that the game doesn't matter.

Ironically, in both cases, they are drawing attention to their failings with a thinly veiled attempt at misdirection.

This was the point I was arguing. If more people would enjoy the game with it modified, I don't see why it shouldn't be.

Really we're beating a dead horse. I think the way the quad rotates is a perfect compromise between the two camps. It's nice to have it off once and a while... and nice to have it on, too.
