I came across a thread that mentioned the ascending levels of skill from mod to mod that had been debated on q2players.org. I was curious if there were any link to that debate or if the conclusions could be posted here. I'm especially interested in where CTF fits into it all... or if it was included...

oh, that's prolly FeTTe^/Fettson. Top euro ctf player when he played, also on the swedish team for NDML (nations deathmatch league). All his demos are very entertaining to watch, very fast, nice aim and just lots of action. CTF is actually a mod that is funny to watch, also seems less chaotic than than tdm.

Anyway, as for the thread about what mod is the most skilled I dont know what the conclusion was $:-\$

I dunno man. I'd have to say CTF is way more skilled than RA2... RA2 is all aim. CTF has so much strat - and it's not about the regen, it's about the quad.

I wonder if CTF should be at the top, actually.

Is jump way down there? I thought jump was pretty technical.

Skillwise?? jumpmod takes plenty of skill (for some jumpers anyways).. it's pretty newb because no _strategy_ is involved (according to the thread, were talking about skill though), but the boundaries of good jumping are virtually endless.

Didn't list any other mods, most of the other ones are just modifications of graphics/weapons to lure newbs into thinking that it's a fun mod when it's actually pretty gay.

Maybe I never played enough Q2 CTF. I know some of the players are all around pretty good, but ive seen better elsewhere.

Props to the flag runners... I never figured out how the hell they use the grapple so well.

I never ran flags, I just ran around and fragged people.
