Ghandi here,

i htink my inability to get my r1q2 updater to work has finally caught up with me. i am currently unable to connect to ANY servers due to my older version, but when i click the updater.exe, it says 'not installed' for every catagory. my 'nocheat' is also an older version, and again, i cannot connnect....ideas?

have you renamed any of the files? that would make the updater not detect them

Sounds like you are missing one of your of your r1q2 files. Just download (http://www.r1ch.net/stuff/r1q2/download/r1q2.zip) install r1q2. After that, rerun the updater to be sure you have the latest.

i havnt renamed any, but my quake folder is located in my documents (dont know if that would effect it - updated program cant find where to but the files?)

i jsut copied quake2 to my E: drive to see if that would work and it didnt...

that shouldnt effect it, is the updater.exe in the same folder as your r1q2.exe?
cant find crap if its not

ok, i downloaded the link you sent (tyvm), extracted to my q2 folder, and clicked the updater, and it still didnt work...am i mising a step there?

nah just a different client man, it's pretty good and imo better than r1q2.

ok, i now have the aq2 and aq2sw icons, but i still get kicked from server when i connect...and it says my r1q2 needs updating?

weird.. aq2 is the one you need, aq2sw is optimized for software mode, thus only allows software.. I dunno that sounds weird.
