DaHang Abusing his Admin Privillage - Please remove it

hang is deffinitly abusing his rights as a ref. yesterday he muted me and dinsum as soon as we joined the server and we reconnected to lose mute and he'd just do it again. I 1on1'd kyuss and won ofcourse but hang muted me all game in our 1on1 for absolutley no reason, i couldnt record it cause i had to keep reconnecting but u can check logs if u like, we didnt do shit all. He was just abusing as usual.

DaHanG had asked me about perma-muting you for awhile.  He's shown me plenty of condumps where all your shit-talking is arguably repetetive and annoying.  I asked DaHanG to start with temporary mutes, if you were making enough noise to be disruptive.

You weren't supposed to be muted for no reason at all, however.

i was playing a 1on1... am i not allowed to talk shit in my own game lol?  i can easily say he does the same shit to me, shit talking is 90% of q2 muting the best players who make the game interesting is like watching tv with no volume.

As far as DaHang getting his admin removed for this, i would have to disagree with. Quadz, you cannot expect anyone with admin to be 100% fair 100% of the time, such is human nature to be flawed.

That's easy.  We'll just say I'm flawed by overreacting. That way the two flaws cancel each other out.

I just can't lump "aliasing" in with "hacking".

I went through a couple years of using a different name every day I played q2.  I've never hacked.

Aliasing doesn't matter to admins when it comes to detecting hacks.  Admins automatically see all of a player's aliases anyway.

Most of the time on tastyspleen if i have captain on my team and there is an alias that joins i immediately kick him from my team. 'Unalias and you can play.' is how i view the whole matter.

Yes, that's well and good and within the boundries of what the mod allows.

But if someone with an alias is team captain, but otherwise giving no appearance of wrongdoing, then he's got the same rights given by the mod to kick anyone off his team, too.

Admins should generally not intervene unless there's some evidence of wrongdoing.

But I would like to ask how many others feel we have a serious problem with admin "nonsense" behavior on the tourney servers?

If there are serious problems, it's important to let me know. So far, I'm not getting many complaints.

I am 98% FFA on DM but really want/(wanted) to get in to TDM.
I logged on one of the Tournies as DeathStalker back on either the 24,25, or 26th ( I believe) but couldn't play because the other person (dosen't play aliases). EXUSE ME ??? HELLO ??? I'm DeathStalker, alway's have been, always will be. Well after trying to talk to him a bit and convince him I was who I said I was, I asked who he thought I was, his reply was "BORING". So I flipped him the bird, let him know he was a Dick, told him if I was so boring then play by yourself and left.

So much for getting in a friendly game before work !!!

Yes an admin, CAN be fair 100% of the time.  To not be fair means you are not following guidelines, and are doing things for your own personal reason.  Quadz's is by far the fairest admin I have ever seen., while some of you aren't smart enough to follow his example, it doesn't give you immunity to do what you please, when you please, to whom you please.

Anyone had the right to use any name they wish, as long as it is appropriate.  Console, this is another example of abuse based on a ref's own personal grudges.  People do shit talk, and can, to a degree...as long as it does not interfere with the game, and from what I see, there wasn't much of that, and the game hadn't even begun yet. 

please don't try to protect your friends and clanamtes when they are in the wrong.  Thinking along those lines, I could safely say that if you found out one hacked, you would probably not say anything either and protect them even though you know they do.

I do disagree with DaHanG in this particular case, as I've already stated.  As a result, this morning I already removed DaHanG's admin, temporarily.  However, adminning is just extra work, anyway, done by volunteers who rarely get praise for their efforts. 

I'll praise a vlounteer if they do their 'job' fairly.

hell, I volunteer!  though I doubt that will happen, even though I am trusted with passwords and certain info's and stuff.,  I'm very serious about abuse.  And I have never done it.  Like I said in a previous thread, some people are fishing to be able to use their ref 'powers',  There's a few ref's that shouldn't be ref's at all because of their actions.  And isn't it funny how all those who have been abusing power lately, are affiliated through a clan.  And those trying to protect them/stick up for them...still, in the same clan, or an affiliate clan.  They are all a close knit group of friends...and it seems like they all want the same thing...to feel power over others.

That's not the impression I get.  For the most part, I think what they would like is a place to play team pickup matches and have fun without putting up with a lot of jerky, idiot behavior.

I'm down with that.  Except the current tourney servers are general admission.

I would like to find a solution, though.
