When my CRT goes out I'd need to replace her with an LCD. What kinda specs (response time) does your LCD mon get? Since prices have come down alot I'd like to get 19'' regular or widescreen.
Thanks,
HPL

you should try and find another CRT if you can IMO
LCDs are no where near as good as CRTs
and they are pretty much phased out now
but if you really want one, id go with viewsonic
i hear they are the top stuff

Mac Cinema Display
20-inch (viewable)
1680 x 1050 optimal resolution
16.7 million colors
DVI Display Connector
2 port USB 2.0 Hub
2 FireWire 400 ports
VESA mount compatible
it rocks.

I use a Dell E173FP Flat Panel LCD monitor at work.... It wasn't all that expensive,
but it's really stinkin reliable and functional for a piece of Dell hardware...
Never had a single problem with it, no dead pixels, its just crisp, clean and really thin.
1280 x 1024 at 70hz looks quite nice on this....

I'm using a Samsung SyncMaster 730b. I think its 16ms, and costed about $160 USD.
My brother has a Viewsonic vp171s. Also 16ms, and It costed about $550 USD.
Personally, I can't tell much of a difference, although the Viewsonic has tilt and swivel adjustments.
Oh, and my Samsung has several dead pixels. (all at the top though)
I would ask the sales rep if you can plug in the monitor before you pay.

Are your pixels dead or just stuck?
I found this video thats supposed to help fix stuck pixels by rapidly flashing colors on the screen. Not sure how well it works since I don't have any to try it on.
Also if you have epilepsy and have seizures from flashing lights, I wouldn't recommend using this.

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
