I can't believe you missed your chance to go own everyone at the Qcon tourney.  Then no one could deny that you are the best, you would have the publicity & check to prove it.

Knowing that everyone there was legit, do you feel you would have won if you were there ?

There is one small problem though, they played more than just DM1.

Funny thing though is that historically the people that I saw complaining the most about cheating were usually cheating themselves. It's just impossible to believe that you can be beat by legit players if you cheat yourself.

Yeah BigWig is definitely spot on. I've also always noticed that the people that are always complaining are the ones using some kind of hack. The only reason I can figure is when you're using a wallhack you no longer pay attention to sounds, so if someone else hears a noise you make and spams an area and hits you there is just no way you could have known they were there.

I have played more games with naym and hang than you granny, and i seen them grow up through the scene.  I can tell you i saw them go from NEWB to where they are right now and it was a slow and long process, they play very well at this game and spent the hours honing their skills.  In every aspect of the game not just a few *cough* so ya i know they don't cheat.  Also i don't have to be in the servers to know who is legit or not.  I actually still talk to people in the scene and watch the occasional demos *including this one* where i saw nothing suspicious.  Rather than a few good prediction shots.  Some due to sound based others due to experience.  I know i can play an average player with no sound and tell you where they are at any time in the map without using sounds, is it cause i see them? No, its cause i have more games than the majority of people here under my belt and i can just assume and guess what i'm almost always right.  Now a good player, what i consider a good player i should say.  Is a sneaky methotical and smart player.  Which hate to say it, i have not seen in a VERY long time.  Hang and naym are good players but not in the same way.  They are new generation good which i can write a whole column about.  They aren't the smartest *sorry*  The last good player i have seen play is defiently fajin.  Before that doze and nogame fall in that catergory specially nogame.   Me and mason used to play on an almost daily basis.  funny though well i'll give the story with the demo.

i agree i'm not the smartest but i think naymlis is the best example of the new-gen q2 players. i think by default i am labeled as such, but i view myself as a more strategic player that just keeps up with the enemy's aggression. maybe i'm wrong about myself

what ppl were talking about when they said most wallhacks wont work on the tastyspleen servers isn't because of the command the server spams every once in awhile, but the r1q2 server command which makes the entities not spawn behind walls.. thats why sometiems when you quickly peek around a corner you wont see the other player til like half a second later. im sure its possible to program a hack that will pass this since everything is hackable, but my programmers are on vacation for a few months so i cant get them to get me a new hack this time.. not even for a raise! lazy bastards

Yeah, some people are good at other maps. Go figure, what newbs to learn other maps than dm1. Granny my 1v1 proposal for dm7 is still on the table any time u wanna take it up.

obviously hackers are free to do whatever they want if det and dit are still on these servers. So anyone saying there is no cheats getting past the q2 folder check that console does (wow) is quite stupid.

What naymlis wrote about the anti-wallhack measures is correct.  And I don't know how many times I need to repeat this, but, as stated before, we're aware the automated scans we run only weed out the n00b's.

However, as you know, if a demo shows someone to be cheating beyond a reasonable doubt, they'll be banned.

It's an imperfect system.  But can you recommend a better way - preferably one that doesn't allow banning legit players based solely on the paranoid ramblings of a conceited egomaniac?
